SOURCE: 2001 silverado 4x4 abs brake keeps coming on

in these trucks if the front abs activates at low speeds it is normally because of the wheel speed sensors in the front hubs. easy fix is to remove wheel speed sensor from wheel bearing. clean and file cast surface of bearing to allow sensor to move closer to internal reluctor ring. what happens is over time the casting rusts and creates a larger gap. please rate if this works.

SOURCE: 2001 chevy silverado 4x4 abs dash light wont go off

Once the ABS light is on there is a problem with the ABS system. You can't really guess with this stuff. Also it becomes a safety issue when abs light is on the ABS system is in-operable. Here is my advice take your vehicle to any AUTO-ZONE store and they will check for FREE and let you know why this light is on it could be anything form abs sensors(wheel sensors) or something like that, they are four of them one in each wheel so make sure to get exact info as to what is the exact code and meaning. Good Luck feel free to contact t me if ou need more info

SOURCE: abs comes on at low speed on dry roads

One of the sensors has gone bad and needs to be replaced, the other thing to that would also do that is the ABS sensor is dirty or needs to be re gaped to the speed ring on the hub. There was a issue bulletin with your Tahoe on the ABS activating under 8 km/h. Good luck and hope this helps, if not clean out the sensor with brake parts cleaner and check the wire harness and ABS sensor bracket. Re gap the sensor to the speed ring hub. Here is the bulletin. Anti lock Brake (ABS) Activation at Low Speeds (Clean Wheel Speed Sensor Mounting Surface) #03-05-25-007C - (05/16/2006) 2001-2006 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe

SOURCE: abs codes co281 & co265

the first of the two codes is for the brake light switch, the one that is under the dash attached to the brake rod and brake peddle. Not much to diag on that one, if its bad it's bad, and when it sets the code that means it's bad.
The second one is for the abs modual, it's under the truck on the drivers side. It is bolted to the top of the thing that has all of the brake lines going to it. MOST all of the time that code is set the modual is bad. It can be a little hard to get the bolts out they are torqs 20 or 25(i'm getting old). There are four of them holding down the modual. There are also a couple of connectors going to it. And some of the time it will blow the fuse for the abs under the hood(its in the underhood fues block). Make sure to clean off the modual before you pull it out. You don't want dirt getting in the solinoids for the BPMV(that's the thing it's bolted to).

SOURCE: Have a 2002 silverado and my abs and brake light stays on

The warning lights are indicating a malfunction has been detected in either the sensing or actuation portion of the ABS system. Your base brakes will function normally but in the event of an ABS controlled stop on an "icy" or "slippery" stretch of road were the ABS system would take over to prevent a skid, that automatic system will not function.
Have the vehicle scanned for trouble codes to find out which portion of the system has malfunctioned.
Good luck,
Regards,

My 2004 Silverado ABS, parking brake light come on. 4x4 will not engage, fan blower will not blow, and cruise control will not work for a few days. Then it all goes away only to come back again....have had...

If the parking brake light comes on, it would indicate to me that the switch on the parking brake peddle may need adjustment. This would also deactivate the 4x4, you would not want to drive around with the brake on. Not sure about the fan blower and cruise but all are in dash and the dash does have a common ground behind the lower left kick panel. A loose ground connection can cause much havoc.

My abs and brake light come on at the same time and stay on occasionally when I start my 2001 chevy silverado 4X4. If I turn the truck off and then restart it they will sometimes stay off.

Scan it,pull the codes when the lights come on and repair the ABS System. Most likely a Wheel Speed Sensor. Test all parts first,to determine if their bad. If you have no knowledge of these systems, take it to a shop.

Brake pedal a.b.s pulsation at slow speeds on dry road.It wont do it all the time. It is on a 2000 chevy silverado 1500 4x4. I can hear the abs kick in when this happens.

You may see the abs light come on in your dash. I would plug a OBD II reader in and retrieve the codes.
I would say you either have a sensor that has gone bad or possibly a wire is shorting.
You can see the wheel sensor if you turn your wheels, and look down by the wheel hub bearing.
You can here the abs go whrrrrrrrr, when you step on the brake, and your braking flucuating.
Please let me know what you find.

2003 silverado abs/brake light and service 4x4 light comes on heater blower quit working at the same time.

Possible bad ignition switch. Check out video on YouTube called 2003 Trailblazer, no blower, abs and brake lights on. I know it says trailblazer, but it applies to most of gm full size trucks. 2003-2007 including Silverado. Video tells you how to test to see if that is the problem.

Truck not stoping and anti brake is working.

dosen't stop at all or just slow?, if the abs is working then you should feel the pulseing in the brake pedal just before tire lock-up, the tires will not lock-up with abs fully funtioning unless all four tires or two are in lock-up depending on the abs application, if abs fails it reverts it self to regular braking ability, hope this helps
