1998 Ford Expedition has absolutely no power anywhere

Absolutely no power anywhere. No lights, door locks, dome light, no click from the starter. Replaced battery, checked fuses but nothing. Bypassed solenoid and still nothing.

Check for your Master fusible link. It should be originating from the Battery cable area to the wiring loom going to the starter solenoid. Master fusible link will eventually travel to the Powerbox. Or check the ground wire off the battery to its mount, then frame chassis ground.

SOURCE: 1998 Ford Expedition "door ajar"

Hi!!
On Ford vehicles from 98 to 02, the light Door Switch on the Driver's or Passenger side is a common problem. One day you come home from work and in the morning, your vehicle's battery is drained, First thing to do is to take the Dome Light Fuse out to avoid a NO START situation, Second is to check your Door Switches starting with the Driver's Side.
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: I have a 1998 ford expedition and it has absolutely no power. What could be wrong, I have already checked the battery and all of the fuses, and they are all fine.

Sounds like you have a poor connection at battery.

Interior lights will not come on in the 1999 ford expedition

Can be a number of reasons. Check selector position on face of dome light. There should be 3 settings. Dome ON, Dome Auto, Dome OFF.

Check fuses. Check to see if any other doors will activate the lights.

1998 Ford Expedition "door ajar"

The door ajar switch is located inside the rear door face along with the latch. They can tend to get dirty and sticky over time. Using your favorite petroleum based lubricating spray, shoot it directly into the door latch area, being very liberal. Open and close your doors several times to make sure the switch is working freely. You should do this one door at a time so you can diagnose which door is causing the issue in case it resurfaces. Should be good to go.

Good luck.

I tried to start car but it nothing happens???

If you got absolutely nothing, you could have a dead battery. Do the dome lights come on when you open the door? Does the motor 'click' when you turn the key but not turn over? Could lead to starter celenoid. Could be the starter itself. What more specifically is the car doing when you turn the key? If the motor turns over but doesn't start, that could be a whole different world of problems.

The dome light on my ford expedition stays on

Check owners manual on dome light operation - if that doesn't work, check for a bad door switch...take the switch out and Ohm across the contacts (if the switch reads zero Ohms with the switch depressed...then the switch is bad - should read infinite with the switch depressed).

I have a ford expedition eb. when the door is open the dome lights flash. if I remove the bulb in the drivers door it stops but the door locks will not work

the door lights in ur vehicle seam to be connected in series to your door lock. Adding a resistor of correct ohms there will get rid of your problem.
