Check the electrical connections at the starter & clean all connections one by one. TAP the solenoid lightly to see if it is sticking, & last of all take the starter to get it tested. GOD BLESS.....

SOURCE: clicking noise when trying to start car, battery is ok, wont start

That Clicking is the Battery causing it not to Start. You need to Replace that Battery or at Least put a Charger on it for a Couple of hours to see if you can Salvage it for a While.

SOURCE: 1999 Chevy Lumina won't turn over...new battery

If your lumina has a Pass II key, it may well be the ignition lock cylinder on the steering column. The car key has a resistor staked on the sides of it which is read by the theft deterent module. The theft deterent module issues a command to the ignition relay and the fuel injectors when it reads a correct resistance from the key. If the lock cylinder is damage( broken wire) ect. the theft deterent module will not be able to read the key. Unfortunately, if you have a Lumina with a solid shroud around the steering column, the dealer will charge you $700-$1200 to replace the cylinder.
Good luck

SOURCE: 97 cavalier key won't turn

My daughter was told the same thing when her key wouldn't turn and was getting stuck in her 97 chevy cavalier. The used-car dealer suggested going to a Chevy dealer and getting a master key remade, not a copy of the key. We did for $16 and the new master key did the trick! It's as smooth using the key as in a new car. Try that first before any of the worst-case scenarios...

Civic coupe 2007 starts when it feels like it. The batterie is new so is the starter. I turn the key and when I go to start it I just hear a CLICK which seems to come from under the car and wont start

You need to have battery cables positive an ground voltage drop tested ! I know you have no clue on automotive electrical testing . Voltage Drop Testing the Starter we as professional technicians test electrical systems , not just replace parts ! I suggest you find a qualified repair shop , so you don't hurt yourself .

first make sure battery is charged if so then then check the relay in the fuse box under the hood find the relay that marked "ing" pull that relay then find a nother one to inter change with it, if car still wont start then ou will need to see if the in line fuse on the starter wire is good or blown if its good then you will need to pull the starter and replace it. hope this helps you

Sounds like the GEM is bad. This is a computer module behind the radio that controls all those things.

Turn key wont crank

Possible issues: too many to list

Do you hear a clicking sound when you turn the key to "START"? If so, I'd say your battery is dead.

Do any of your gauge lights, head lights, radio, etc. work just fine? If so, I'd guess you have a bad ignition, bad coil, or bad starter.

Likely issues:
Dead battery
Bad coil
Bad ignition switch
Bad starter

Car not starting, whirring once ignition engaged

Check the obvious. Shift to park (also try neutral) If you jump from the battery to the starter directly if it turns then you may need to replace the solenoid. It may also be an ignition that needs to be replaced.
