Check that the oil filter is tight . run your fingers around the base of the filter and if you get an oily finger then the problem will be there.

SOURCE: transmission filter on 2003 hyundia santa fe

In 2002 they discontinued the external trans filter. So your vehicle could have the external filter. If you look next to the trans dipstick tube, on top of the trans case you will see the filter or you will see just a spot where the filter use to go before they eliminated it. Yes, the filter does llok like a regular engine oil filter. If the trans does not have the external filter ontop then there is no service to the filter to be done, the only recommendation is to bring vehicle into a shop to have the fluid flushed. By the way, make SURE you use the correct Hyundai SP-III trans fluid (not dexron/mercon). This fluid is specific to the Hyundai and can not be purchased from auto parts stores, only the dealership. Failure to use SP-III will cause premature wear to the internal bands and clutches.

SOURCE: Major oil leak after oil change

Your filter was installed either without the rubber seal, or the seal wasn't lubed before installation and it slipped, causing an improper seal. You will have to drain the oil again, remove the filter, and make sure it is reinstalled with a proper seal.

SOURCE: Power steering fluid leaking.

Year and mileage? Keep the fluid level up so you don't damage the power steering pump, and return to the garage that serviced it. This sounds like something wasn't tightened properly, and they should correct the problem. It is possible that a power steering hose or the pump itself developed a leak, but, it is most likely something that wasn't tightened properly. That's the best diagnosis that can be given w/out actually being able to see the vehicle.

SOURCE: hyundai 2001 sonata power steering fluid leak

The power steering fluid (which is the same color as the auto transmissioin fluid)...can come from 1 of 4 places, the power steering reservoir, power steering pump, power steering rack, or the connection lines........

Where it is coming from will depend whereabouts it is leaking, if it is more towards the front of the car (engine), power steering poump would be the likely option.......however if it is more under the driver/passenger area under the car, this would be more likely be the rack...

I would suggest washing the vehilce down with high pressure wash, inlcuding underbody and engine area......let dry, take for a drive (15-20 minutes), then leaving on reasonably clean driveway/roadway...and see where it is leaking from...what area...then get a torch and trace to where it maybe coming from

What are comon places for oil leaks on a 1994 v6 camaro

Some models have an adapter that goes between the oil filter and the block. The oil pressure sending unit is nearby also.
You may have to spray clean the area to find the leak.

Oil leak onto garage floor either coming from oil pan gasket or oil filter not sure wich one

Clean the filter and pan with a spray cleaner, run engine for a few miutes.
recheck oil leak.
Probably is rear main seal leaking, very common trouble.
If not leaking much, keep drip pan under car to keep floor clean and drive on.
Most cars do leak after they age a little. The black line in the middle of the road is oil leaking from cars. Very common.

Oil filter

It is located outside of the the fuel tank. Start on the drivers side and look under the back part near the rear wheel. You should have a bracket along with a canister like item. That's the fuel filter. I believe 2 14mm wrenches or 1 14mm wrench and an adjustable wrench working with opposite motion should do the trick. Do so to unscrew the filter from both fuel lines. Be careful not to strip it. Make sure you have a drip pan. It will leak a little bit.

Fuel drip (leak) under car close to fuel tank

Yes, that sounds like the problem. The filter is usually attached to the steel fuel lines with a short piece of rubber hose (not sure about vw though) which over time will dry up and split, allowing fuel to leak. I checked, and a replacement is about $30 (much more from the dealer) . If it uses the 2 short hoses, it will come with them, and hopefully that will be the cure. DON'T park car inside a garage until this is fixed, fumes will build up and can ignite in a closed area just by flipping on a wall light switch or starting the car.
