2003 chevy s10 - keeps blowing out AC fuse. Will work for a couple minutes then compressor quits working. Check the fuse, it is blown out. Put in a new fuse, works a couple minutes, then quits, fuse blown out again. AC works nice and cold but just a few minutes. Want to know if this is an existing problem or what to try before I take in and spend money on diagnosis.

You have a short somewhere problably bad ground , or interferrance from alternaot overloading the circuit... check all ground securlely...if you cant locate it its not going to be cheap for a mech to locate the issue.. good luc kthough ( also check for loose wire behind the fuse box in car.

Where's the fuse for the AC on 98 Olds 88?

So what does the fuse that blows, protect?

You need a wiring diagram & start to test
the components most likely to cause a high
current draw & blown fuse.

Don't keep replacing it.

You know the fan control circuit works, but the
compressor doesn't stay on. Did you monitor
the compressor as the fuse blew?

May have a module for compressor & fan
If so one side failed
The compressor clutch could be bad

2003 chevy s10 - keeps blowing out AC fuse. Will work for a couple minutes then compressor quits working. Check the fuse, it is blown out. Put in a new fuse, works a couple minutes, then quits, fuse blown...

Unplug the a/c compressor, there will be a plug near the pulley. Install a new fuse. Start the vehicle and turn the a/c on. Wait about the same amount of time it took for the fuse to blow in the past. Did the cues blow? If no replace the a/c compressor, the clutch has gone bad. If yes, than the wiring between the fuse and the relay or the relay to the comps sore is grounded. A careful inspection of the wiring should reveal the problem.

A/C just quit working. No cold air.

there are few problem with the A/C cooling system better check for A/C unit fuse weather it is blown or in good condition, check for the proper working of A/C condencer unit fan motor assembly for proper working, check for weather their is no lick of gas any where in the entire A/C unit complete system or more problem better consult or take the vehicle to nearest Hyundai authorised workshop or better take it to a well knon or experiencied person who had done this sort of problematic work.

My aircondition on my 99 montana quit working.Replaced the blown fuse & it worked for less than a minute & fuse got blown again. Is the compressor bad?

The compressor runs off of the belt from the motor so its not likely to be the compressor but it may be the electric clutch on the compressor, or a short in the wiring, or the blower motor fan could be getting hung up. I'd buy a couple more fuses and run it for a minute a couple more times while listening for any abnormal sounds or check some of the wires you may find areas where the wires rub up against something or were accidentally damaged by any other work performed. Try running the heat and see if that trips the fuse, then run the fan on low speed, ect.
