All the windows will not work on my 1999 Ford Expedition

All four windows on my Exped. will not go up or down. I tried replacing the fuse under the hood and it wasn't the problem. ''HELP''...summer is coming and I need air that doesn't use gas.

I've tried every switch on every door, including the window lock.

Is it hard to replace the switch yourself? The dealer wants $150.00 just for labor and $110.00 for the part.

How hard is the door panel to get off?

    Thanks

You can try replaceing the master window switch as all of the windows run through it

the switch is not that hard to change, you dont have to remove the door pane, the plastic that the switch mounts to pulls off fromthe door panel, its replaced as a unit.

My truck is stuck in four wheel drive

At the risk of going to the offensive, sometimes it's the simplest thing - you ARE putting it in neutral, at a stop, engine running, with the brake pedal pressed, when trying to shift out of 4wd, yes?

2) Check for blown fuse for 4x4 shift module

3)This sounds dumm, but worked on my wife 99. I took it to a school parking lot, put it in reverse, floored it and pulled on the lever and it popped out of 4x4

4) The shift motor is bad. Replace it.

Hope this helps.

I need to know what fuse that powers the fuel pump in my 1999 ford expedition it has a 5.4 va 4 wheel drive

OK, there are fuses on the driver's side down below.

But, if you are having a fuel pump problem, it's likely that the fuse is alright and you need to replace the fuel pump. Same thing happened to our 1999 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition. It quit working. And the inertia fuel cutoff switch didn't help, either (flipping or pushing it).

So, if you have no fuel coming, it may very well be the fuel pump.

We changed ours around 112000mi.

I driven from work across busy hwy my 2005 exped.

Call your local Ford dealer and see if there is a recall on getting this done. If not, explain to them what happened and see if they have a remedy for it that won't be too expensive.

Hope this helps!

1999 ford expedition with a passenger, front window stuck in the down possition

Hi,

Initially, try to determine which fuse goes to the power window. Check and replace if necessary.

In brief for a temporary remedy just to have the window closed: remove the triangular cover at the top front of the door behind the mirror, there should be a screw there; remove the trim around the door handle another screw, remove the cover of the courtesy light at the bottom of the door, there is another screw behind that; soon as all the screws are out, lift/push up on the door panel and pull off. This would grant you access to the mechanism controlling the window. You can try closing by manually turning the motor.

Thereafter, pls determine if it is the motor or the switch(es) has failed. Replacements are available here.

Incidentally, here is a nice tutorial on repairs of power windows in general.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
