I definitely would get this checked.cIts dangerous.. It might be something is hanging it up. My guess is on top of the motor at the carburetor... Something is not letting it releases..Might be a bad spring or something is grabbing it not letting it release

Check around the mats and make sure it's not hanging up on this. Also be sure it's clearing the firewall and not her is interfering in the engine compartment

SOURCE: RX300 Engine Stalls when I take foot off the gas pedal.

The Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is clogged. This part feeds air to the engine at start-up and idle when the throttle bodies are closed. I removed the throttle body assembly from my 2001 RX300 and separated it from the IAC. After a good cleaning with throttle body cleaner the IAC was good as new. I later decided to replace it during routine maintenance. You can pick up a brand new IAC on eBay (genuine Lexus/Toyota part). The dealer will want upwards of $400.00 for a 45 minute job (all you need are basis hand tools).

Gas pedal sticks on isuzu trooper

On the next "above freezing" day, force lubricant through the throttle cable and lube all linkage at the engine end and interior.AND BEFORE STARTING for the next while try depressing the gas pedal and make sure it is releasing fully.
If it ever gets stuck again SHUT IT OFF before you damage the engine with high RPM on a cold engine.

You have a mechanical bind. Disconnect the main linkage and work it all by hand. Everything should be free and slopy. Aerosol carb cleaner will help, but only when the engine is not running.

2003 Ford Ranger Pickup traveling down the road

Is there somthing hitting the gas pedal, like the floor mat? Or maybe something under the dash came loose and is getting caught under the brake pedal and pushing on the gas. Put the shifter in neutral if you get into a situation where going to hit something or someone. The engine has a rev limiter, to prevent it from over reving.

BMW x5 warning light fiasco

Hello This is Mike,,

Sometimes.... Sometimes this will take care of some of those faults and codes, and it only takes a few minutes to do. I know your problem is not exact as this reset method says, but however you would be amazed on this fixes a lot of things, it like a cheap way to reset computer and fixes a lot of things back to default mode. Try it and let me know. Mike

IT'S VERY EASY TO RESET THE TRANSMISSION'S COMPUTER. HOLD GAS PEDAL DOWN. TURN THE KEY TO THE NUMBER TWO. CONTINUE TO HOLD THE GAS PEDAL DOWN FOR THIRTY SECONDS.RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL AND PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL FOR TEN SECONDS. NOW YOU CAN TURN THE VEHICLE ON. THAT SHOULD TAKE IT OUT OF SAFE MODE

Wont shift past 2nd

Find your throttle valve cable attached up near cable from throttle pedal ,it's the one that runs down behind toward transmission. With engine off in park, park brake on, Have someone push gas pedal to the floor & observe that cable, to make sure it is retracting properly when pedal released. Now get under & watch where that cable attaches & watch it while doing the same with gas pedal. The lever that it attaches to should move freely & rotate one way when gas pedal pushed, and should return all the way the other way when pedal released. Sometimes that linkage or cable will get seized, and not return fully, which will hold transmission in lower gear. You can use your hand to make sure it is returning all the way if necessary, and if needed, apply penetrating spray to loosen it up, then apply something like white lithium grease to coat it after it's unseized, to prevent repeat in near future.

Jeep Liberty 2008--Noisy when releasing the gas pedal

I might take a closer look at the wheel bearings. Being an '08model, I'd think that something like that would be covered by a warranty. May also have to do with the tires. I've personally driven a few Libertys at work, and haven't noticed anything like that, nor have any customers presented that as a problem. I hope this helps.
