Yes it should as long as the electrics plug in they should be the same transmission the 5.2 and 5.9 are physically identical outside and both balanced internally so go for it

its located at the front of the tranny if your standing in front of the car looking towards the driver seat. there should be a vacuum hose connected to it.
Sounds like you already have the 98 trans if you look at the Trans I.D. tag and the #'s are the same on yours and the 98 then it will work if not it will not operate properly. How do you know the trans is bad and please don't take this wrong I'm just asking ?? because you don't give enough info for diagnosis.
That is possible but the computer system in the '97 is much different than the '94. So there will be allot (large list) of parts to change over from the old engine to the new one. A '96 engine would be more compatible than a '94 but still some differences.
yes this will fit, model years 88-97 will fit. I would recommend the newest model you can get, as they improved internal hardware after 93. hopefully this helps
You need to get your tranny rebuilt. The motor that is already in your truck is set up for that Tranny so i wouldnt change it at all as it would cost alot more then you need to spend to do it. . I also would go to Mr.Transmission as they do great work on trannys.
I owned a 96 ram and all I can say is "DON"T BUY ONE"! I bought mine new and after 50 K, I replaced the rear end gears, at 58 k, the transmission was replaced, at 65 k, the fuel pump. I then bought an extended warrantee just in time for the first AC evaporator. Then after 85 K, another AC. After 120 K, a second tranny and a replacement vehicle! I am not normally ******* cars nor trucks and now own a Subaru that is perfect as well as a Corvette!
