I bought a key on line for my 2003 jaguar x-type and unable to find any one to cut it.
Hey cheeriospapy,
Unfortunately the key you bought on-line is going to be no good, jaguar keys cannot be cut by any after-market company. When ever a customer comes into the dealership he has to give the vin number to the parts department. They then send an order to the company that cuts the keys specifically to the car. Thats why know one will be able to cut it.
They key also has to be programed to the car which the dealership charges .5 hrs worth of labor to do. So needless to say a replacement key is fairly expensive.

A little internet search will lead you to places like "triple c" for about $40 they will cut you a new key. I believe you can even send them a photo so they can see the code cuts.

you will need to take your original and decide if it is a 6 cut tibbe key or an 8 cut. Triple C can do 8 cuts. the 6 cut keys require a bit more checking around. Get out your local yellow pages first and start calling to see who has the right machine. My 2002 jag has the 6 cut. Don't take it to the dealer unless you are desperate and have alot of time (sometimes weeks) to waste waiting on them.
