Fuel Fail 47 Idle speed control valve - coil 2: Open or short circuit.

This code 47 is signaling a malfunction that has occurred within the Idle speed control device. the code is saying that the circuit is inoperable at this time and you will need to service it or replace the entire device.

This is basically A computer-controlled air bypass valve located in the throttle body. It helps control idle speeds by allowing air to bypass the throttle plates as to increase the idle speed.

My 1993 Jaguar XJ6 wont turn over..the lights on the dashboard wont come on but the radio works and all the lights in the car..someone help please.

I recommend you have your battery tested. The starter requires MUCH more power than the radio does. You could also see if the car starts with a jump start. Also, as a general rule, a battery is only good for 3-4 years so if it is older than that it wants to be replaced anyhow : )

Good luck!!!

How can i tell if it is my fuel pump or fuel relay

Generally speaking if a EFI car wont start but will "turn over" there are many points in the fuel system that could be hindering the process. I would start with the fuel filter. Also if when you begin to turn the ignition on you should be able to hear a light humming noise (this is your fuel pump engaging). If you dont hear this humming it could mean a bad fuel pump. A temporary fix is to take a none abrasive or punctioning object and tap on the fuel tank... Fuel relay would have to be checked electronically...like the previous poster stated...

Engine starter 93 xj6 4.0 of course

The started is located on the left rear corner of the engine, ontop of the car, not underneath.
If you look in the engine bay down ontop of the transmission on the elft rear corner you can see it.
I do not suggest hitting it with a hammer, most of these started now have plastic gears unlike the older ones.
Usually it wont come to life by hitting it.
