Hi i got an alarm installed on my honda accord 2008 lx n after it was installed my gas gage jus read e! While installing i remember him telling me he couldnt get the door to unlock on 1 press so he had to jump the lock control with a wire or sumtin in order for it to unlock by double tappn open! He checked all of the fuses n wires n he said everyrhing sames to be fine! But we never took the jump he did out n check that. Sendn unit is fine. Do u think it could be that? Sounds like the fuel supply pipe inside the fuel tank has hole that's why if the fuel level is about 1/4 and the pipe hole is not completely soak in the fuel, the fuel pump will sucks air instead of fuel and this can cause of lack of power first until the engine shut off but if your problem is sudden shut off without other symptoms like lack of power or engine rough running first before engine shutting off, most probably it was electical problem.

you may have damaged the fuel gauge when you were messing with the gauge cluster, they can be very delicate.
Check you connections real well.
Could be also, just by coincindence that the sending unit in the gas tank has gone bad.

yeah you can check your fuses on the driver side under the dash board, you will find one of them blowed.

Check fuse No. 9 (10A) in the driver's side kick panel fuse box. But if your other gauges are working (speedometer, tachometer, low oil light, etc.) then it is possible that when you jumped the battery you inadvertently reversed the cables and created a reverse voltage. This will impact some of the vehicle electronics. If you feel this might be the case, you should test the cooling system temperature sender to see if it failed. If it did, you should suspect that the fuel gauge drive circuit located in the instrument cluster is also failed.

Sounds like yourfloat may be stuck. Its located in the gas tank.
