SOURCE: 2004 Chevrolet Aveo Brake lights not working

A couple of days ago my brake lights on my 2004 Chevy Aveo wouldn't work, so I attempted to remove the lamp covers to check the bulbs. Also, before this my shifter would get stuck in park and could only be released by pressing the unlock gadget next to the shifter. Back to the brakes...Well, you open the trunk and remove the two screws just like the manual said, but it was very hard to pull off. There's 2 prongs holding the other half of the light on. The lamp will come loose by prying it (very hard). You think the cover will break, but it'll come loose. The bulbs were all OK.

After much frustration and internet info, the STOP LAMP SWITCH, GM#96436331 ($9.30 at Chevy dealer), which is located under the dash and has contact with the brake pedal, was defective. Once replaced, both my brake lights AND SHIFTING problems were cured. So if the brake lights suddenly don't work or you have problems getting the vehicle out of park, check the switch by pushing the prong (end that has contact with brake) of the switch in and out. If it doesn't retract smoothly...that's the PROBLEM. Good Luck.

SOURCE: How to remove and replace valves on head of 2004

Assuming that you mean the exhaust and /or intake valves.
The first step is to remove the head. For step-by-step instructions, you'll need to get a service manual which includes pictures.
They can be quite beneficial, since they provide instructions for which parts must be removed to get to the head. Your local library can be a great resource, since many libraries have a good supply of manuals for different vehicles.
Once you have the head off, I seriously recommend that you take it to a local machine shop. It will cost you a little more than replacing the heads yourself, but the machine shop can check the condition of the valve guides, springs, seats and the actual valves. Another advantage is that the machine shop can set up the valve clearance to the camshaft.
The machine shop will also test the head to make certain that the surface is perfectly flat. That's important when you're re-installing the head.
Always use new gaskets and follow the torque specifications indicated for your engine.
This is a technical job, and you need to follow the engine specifications if you want the vehicle to perform properly.
Good luck.

How do I access the wiper linkage on my 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. the right wiper still moves but the driver side one stopped.

The grill that covers the area the wipers are attached to comes off. If you pop off the tabs on the connection point of the wipers you will expose a bolt that holds the wiper arm. Remove that and then remove the screws that hold the grill cover on. Once those are removed you will be able to see the whole mechanism.

Do i have to remove my engine to change my transmission in 2004 chevy aveo

i would drop the whole lot out of the underside of the vehicle. you can use an engine brace across the engine from guard to guard, secure it, it will support the load and drop the lower susp. when removed lower the support chain until you get the angle to remove the trans, or just drop the whole lot out, its easier

Brake drums

Try using a hub puller. I used one with sucess on my 2004 Aveo. The Aveo has studs that are installed in the brake drum (rather than in a hub behind the drum). I used a hub puller with arms that bolted to the wheel studs with a center screw that drives down on the spindle (visible after the drums dust cap is removed). Remove the cap and the spindle nut, install the puller, and a few turns are all that are needed to pop the drum off.
