Door want unlock on my 2002 silverado when I put it in park also transmission want shift into 3rd gear. Only goes about 45 mph.

I had a performance setting in and had been in for a while so I don't think that is the problem. When I take off it will only go into 2nd or 3 rd gear and no further. I did change back to original setting and it ran fine for maybe a day or so and then started doing it again. I had noticed that it wouldn't unlock the doors when I put it in park. It did this once before and they change a position selector on it I think thats what they called it and I think that's is the problem this time as well. I'm not sure what it look like but would like to change it out my self. Do you think that could be the problem. If so I would like to know if it's the electrical board on the side of the transmission.

transmission shift solenoid is stuck open this is a common vehicle issue in automatics and not particular to any make or model vehicle 15 dollar part and arm and leg for labor if taken in

heres an idea to try
take out the transmission filter and replace with new one make sure to take not of any metal debry in trans pan this indicates the trans had sheered its gears down and a trans rebuild is needed
the transfilter needs to be changed at a certain milage interval they can get clogged up
there is a kit you buy for your truck at any parts store
its an easy change hour of time unbolt trans pan unbolt trans filter and put new one in
kit comes with new seals less than an hour you can do it yourself

to overdrive you would feel a difference in shift badley if it was that something to keep in mind

If there is a Auto Zone around your area, have the blazer scanned for any DTC codes that is related to the transmission issues. It could be a fault sensor, bad wires, or bad solenoid in the valve body. The scan should help indicate if there is an electrical issues or it's going to be mechanical. You can try adding a transmission additive to flush out the system and then replace the transmission filter and oil. Make sure you flush out all the transmission oil, it could be as simple as the 2nd and 4th solenoids are seized with dirt and not activating. Good luck and keep me posted. The solenoid is in the valve body and is not that expansive for the parts, you just have to find a good transmission shop that will fix this simple problem and not try to get you to put in a new transmission.

Transmission shifts hard

You don't give me much information to work with. However, 1st, look at the engine mounts. You may have a broken mount. This will make it feel like the transmission is shifting hard. Other than that, there is only a few things that will cause this. The speed sensor tells the computer when to shift the shift solenoids. It may not be "seeing" a quality signal. If this is the case, the speedometer will be bouncing too. Last idea is that it is skipping a gear. Starts in 1st, should go to 2nd at about 10 MPH. 3rd at 25 to 30 MPH. And, if you have a Overdrive transmission, it should go into overdrive at around 45 to 55 MPH. If it is skipping 2nd, it will engage 3rd at a high engine speed, and will feel like a sudden slam into gear. If this is true, your transmission needs some work. Hope this all helps. Good Luck.

When I put my 2002 silverado in drive it will not shift pass 3rd and only go 45 mph safely. When I put it in park the door want unlock. It done this once before and it was the selection switch.

Recommend you test the park neutral switch with an ohmmeter. Remove the two connectors. For each position, one and only one pin of the c1 connector should connect to pin D of the c2 connector, as you move the shifter through the gears. See diagram below.

Sounds to me that you need your trans fluid changed and filter. When you do change it use a quart of Lucas transmission conditioner to it. Also check and see if you may have a bad univercel, It will also make it vibrate at faster speeds or your drive shaft may need to be rebalanced.

Since the transmission in this car is electronically controlled the first thing that must be done is to have the transmission control module scanned for fault codes, that is numero uno.

1978 Granada 250 shift points are off

Sounds like you may have accidentally removed the vacuum line to the modulator valve on the back of the transmission. (worst case, the headers may have burned through the hose, but either way, this is more than likely the problem.
