You need to remove both the wiper arms. Take off the rain seal from under the windshield. remove the cover underneath you will find the rod has worn and dropped off you must get a complete new mechanism. Or if you cant afford to do that re attatch the rod to the buckle pin on the wiper arm and use some insulation tape to make a temporary repair till you can get a new one.

Idoubut it's a fuse.. Try to move yhe wiper up without forcing it. If it feels loose it might be disconnected from the wiper motor. If it won't move freely, the wiper motor may be at falt. If you have tried to assist it, was there and indication the wiper was tryying? There is a remote chance the linkage has come disconnected. ... good luck ... try to help it with a little lift, sometimes they hang up if not used for extended periods.

Olds Silhouette Passenger Side wiper not working

Your wipers have a transmission of its own. It is located between the wiper motor and the wiper arms. the linkage to the right wiper arm has fallen off. More than likely you will need to replace the transmission. If the wiper motor is original, replace it at the same time. Sometimes you can buy the two together. Any other questions, feel free to write back, good luck.

One windshield wiper not working

Maybe the nut that hold the wiper to the linkage is either loose or stripped? The linkage itself is bad?

I think your wiper motor is fine because the passenger side works and uses the same motor to move the wipers.

Passenger Side Windshield Wiper Broken

Hi Jill,
The first thing to check is a 13mm nut that holds the wiper arm in place.See if you can move the wiper arm freely back and forth. There is a nut at the base of that wiper arm,Lift up a cover that is hiding the nut. If it comes loose from being froze from ice or snow. Put the wiper in its rest position and tighten the nut back up.

Passenger Windshield Wiper Not Working

If it were the motor neither side would move. Chances are its the linkage.
You'll probably need to remove the panel under the windshield to access the linkage and check it out.

2003 cavalier only one wiper works

If one works the motor is ok. The issue is morre than likley the linkage under the crowel below the windsheild. it has com apart or the wiper transmission is bad. Try accessing that arrea to get a look. you will probably see the control arm just lying on the bottom, possably along with the nut that fell off the back of the transmission.

2003 Chevy Cavalier - Driver side wiper doesn't work

Likely broke the nylon bushing cap on the left side wiper transmission assembly. Best as I can tell, the cap is not replaceable so replacement of the assembly is required. These are available new AC Delco p/n 19120840 about $75, or on ebay used for about $35. ACDelco 19120840 Windshield Washer Transmission Kit. Goold luck, mine's broke too!

2004 Cavalier Wiper Motor

hi, im not sure if they would have a separate motor each because most vehicles have a linkage bar that connects the two wipers to keep them in time with each other. without the wipers on, try manually rotating the paasenger side wiper (be gentle) if that moves easily and the drivers side does not even flinch, then it could be a broken linkage. hope i helped!
