It sound's like there could be a problem with your transmission. When a transmission starts to go bad one of the things that happens is that you may lose one or more of your gears, sometimes reverse. You may want to get it looked at by a good mechanic. You could also try checking if your transmission fluid is low or possibly replacing the relay switch located on the outside of the transmission. Hope this helps.

My 2000 mustang has a 3.8l automatic transmission and won't go into gear.. any gear.. just revs.. reverse works fine.. what might be the problem?

It could possibly be a problem with your torque converter in your ******. Its definitly worth taking it to a transmission shop to get it checked out.

97 mustang power loss at 4000 rpm seems like it wants to go but won't doent do it when cold only after runing for about 15 minutes seems like it bogs down

Sounds like a weak fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.Check your fuel pressure it should be 30-45 psi with key on and engine off.

First thing I would check is all of your vacuum lines. I had same problem and turned out there was a split in one of my vacuum lines. Once I repaired it, it worked perfectly again.
