Fords "better idea"...go to an automotive stereo shop that does keyless entry install for around $89...it's the cheapest way to go anyway. Dealer will have to reprogram the FOB, you're looking at $100+

Bring it to a "Batteries Plus" type store; they can repair the fob if it is ony a broken battery clip. They did it for me for free! IF it is not the fob, then bring it to a dealer??

I'm not sure where' the screws are but basically You need to remove the panel on the rear door, then once the panel (interior trim) has been removed you should see a lock mechanism which will be screwed/bolted in place. Easier and cheaper then buying a brand new lock mechanism (unless you want to buy brand new) is going to a wreckers and finding your car model and get it that way (yes it's used but it'll probably save you tons of money vs the dealership) Best Regards.

all you have to do to reset the coding is hold the lock button down for a minute or two till the locks click locked. then test it again by unlocking them. if the button light flashes rapidly then the batt is low, which will affect the distance for use. (do the re-code right next to the vehicle for best results.)

SOURCE: 2008 Mazda 5 key fob battery changed and it still won't work. how do i fix it?

I have taken a GM key FOB apart before and found a bad soldered connection. If that doesn't work, people sell them on Ebay all the time, look up how to program on the web and reprogram it to match your vehicle.
