Check to see if your truck was recalled for a faulty cam shaft sensor. Some sensors develop hair line cracks which allow contaminants to get in and the sensor becomes intermittent. The symptoms can include sudden shutdown of the engine so a recall was issued.

try changing the pick up sensor ,and cleaning the connections on the coil pack, could just the be the connections on the pick up sensor itself.Hope this is just your sunday car and your daily car is a small engined shopping basket type of car.thinking here and its hard as only ever seen one on an american tv show but if its all dropping off ???what about the ignition contact switch on the steering lock, its not loose or contacts worn ??my sunday car is a 4lt jaguar XJ6 sovereign so i cant call the pot black can i.But whatever it is, this is a stupid thing causing this and its down to trial and error to locate the fault
