2003 Montana heating up/ smoke, noisy ticking and cricket sounds, cold cabin, cold outside, transmission gone...starts less smooth sometimes

Transmission problems aren't enough. as soon as the gauge hits the red zone...it registers to the top of heat within seconds. The transmission is going fast now, and leaking. Then the ticking and whistling..then less heat, now burning and smoking.

SOURCE: possible overheating, 2004 pontiac montana

Its definitly a bad reading, you would know if your vehicle is overheating, you can usually smell it right away.I would say its your temperature gauge sending unit is defective, check the wires to see if they are well connected or broken. ask a backyard mechanic for assistance.

you can pull the valve covers and inspect the rocker arms, but you may have a bad main or rod bearing. im leaning toward the main bearing being spun, at least.

SOURCE: gas gauge on 2004 pontiac montana sticks

Before you start your van, and the key's are on accesory. Does your needle move? If it does, your gage is good and you have a bad ground or wire harness. Worst you could have a bad  sending unit and that is in the gas tank it self. Start with checking all the wire connection. Good luck.

Why deos my car everytime i start it especially in the morning have a bkue/white/grey smoke come out of it

Don't worry about the smoke when your car starts it will mostly happen in cold mornings but as car heats up it should be gone its just cause the car has to heat up to a certain tempeture. Hope it helps.

Engine start ticking when start up from cold after warm up it stop what the pronlem?

lack of oil to lifters, was a common ford thing back in the 80s, when did you last change the oil? sometimes old oil causes the issue, i had a bronco that would start doing it every 4000 miles unless i changed the oil.. try a thinner oil, 5w30, or 5w20..might fix the problem

My pontiac 2003 montana will start fine, while driven on the road, the car just stops. three minutes later I starts it up and it rides,go a few miles and does it again. Can you tell me what the problem

The engine in this car is controlled by a computer, whenever a problem like this occurs you must have the electronic engine control computer checked for fault codes as the 1st step in diagnosis and repair of the problem.

Heater blows cold air for 20min then blows hot

There are a few things that can cause this problem. Reason #1 a low coolant level can cause the heater core to receive less coolant flow hence causing the heat to come less quickly. reason #2 sticky heater control valve, if this control valve is stuck closed coolant cant enter the heater core hense wont heat up the cabin, reason #3 clogged heater core, over time some heater cores will clog up even sometimes start to leak in cabin. All these are normal circumstances and should be checked. Good luck

My montana 2002 engine is noisy when start but gone after 2 minute. What's the problem?

depending on the noise, I know the 3.4 had a TSB out for excesssive piston to cylinder clearance, which would cause a light knocking noise on cold start. On the other hand it may be loosing the prime on the oil pump. Kinda of hard to say exactly with actually hearing it. ; <

2000 pontiac montana heat issues

Try checking the cabin air filter, if equiped. It may be clogged making it draw more cold fresh air. Check your owner's manual to see if you have one or not, and it's location.
