It is likely a simple flasher causing your problems. Try locating it under your dash board and swapping it with the hazard flasher for a quick check. They sell for a few bucks at the parts store.

SOUNDS TO ME THAT YOU HAVE A SENSOR GONE BAD...TAKE IT TO YOUR LOCAL FORD DEALER AND HAVE THEM DO A TEST ON YOUR CAR...THE SENSORS ONLY COST AROUND $5.00, BUT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHICH ONE IT IS!
Heat is pretty much methanol...it will counteract the effects of the other additive you used. Run that stuff out of there and try using 3oz of acetone per 10 gals of fuel and possibly adding a couple of degrees more advance to the timing. If you know anyone with a gas analyzer, perhaps they can help you get it set up.
