These bigger fuses are sometimes bolted in. If you are looking at the fuse box under the hood, look on either side of the box. You should see little bolts to remove that will let the 100 amp come out. Oh yeah, disconnect the battery first!!!...Chris

owner's manual may give related suggestions. caution
must be taken to use the same size [amps] fuse that is
being replaced. do not use higher [amps] rated fuses than original fuses used in car when manufactured. remove
ignition key and shut off everything controlled by fuses before changing them. if not sure, you can always disconnect the car's battery, switch fuses then reconnect
battery terminals.

My 2008 nissan maxima will not start. The key turns but no power or lights. I replaced the battery recently and had the alternator tested.

If you have no power for lights or the ignition, the problem is between the battery and the fuse box. There should be a maxi fuse of 100 amp or more that could be burned.
The headlights are on a different circuit to the key switch but everything runs thru the maxi fuses. You would need to take a test light or meter and trace the power and ground cables from the battery out.

How to replace 100 amp fuse next to battery under hood?

All what is needed is to get the same type replacement, remove the fused fuse from the holder and make sure that there is no crusting on the terminals of the fuse holder and the battery. There is clipped cover which can be removed to get access.

This fuse is attached to the fuse box by screws which may be under the fuse box. 100 amp automobile fuses are always fastened in by screws and do not just push in/pull out like lower amp fuses.
Hope this helps.
