Changed transmission from a 2000 venture with traction control to a 2003 venture without traction control, will not start won't even turnover? Jumped across starter default light says service traction control soon?

take it to a shop and have them run a diagnostic on it so you know for sure whats wrong whether its the trac control or the transmission

I have had exactly the same problem on and off for 3 years now - and just solved it last week thanks to another computer site. Remove and disassemble both grounds from the top of both the left and right frame rails adjacent to the front corners of the engine block. Completely clean the green corrosion from the internal parts with fine sandpaper and add dielectric grease then re-assemble. Clean the mounting bolt and frame hole while you're at it. Sounds time consuming and difficult, but it ain't. No more than 45 minutes combined. I am a technical airhead so if I can do it so can you. What clued me in was the problem always occurred around wet or humid weather. Also, the clock would always lose time overnite. That has ceased also. Good luck. Anyone know why my left headlite, when deployed, vibrates and shimmys??? Sully [email protected]

When i had this issue, it was my gas cap not being on properly... took 3 days for it to reset itself.

is the anti-theft light flashing? if not, its not a anti-theft problem. did you check in neutral? you should be able to bypass the relay. you cant do anything without a wiring diagram for the starter

Hello Njfran.
You will need to have the system scanned for the service code.
Something is wrong in the system and troubleshooting without knowing where to look is difficult, if not impossible for some faults.
Most of the time it is a wheel speed issue but if your Abs light isn't on it may be another issue.
If you can get the system scanned to find out which part of the system is at fault you may be able to pin point the problem using a multi meter. But then you would need some wiring diagrams and pin out locations.
Hope this helps you repair your problem.
Thank you for using FixYa.
