Ratio tag on transmission

C1500 or K1500 ,2wd or 4wd/
THE TRANSMISSION MUST BE EXACTLY THE SAME OR PCM MUST BE REPROGRAMMED
4l80 IS CLASS SERIES OF BOX.
NOT EXACT, EVER. MANY VERSIONS ARE MADE OF THAT SERIES. FOR ALL GM VEH..
even special gear ratios and 4wd /2wd differences

only ford can answer that and to get any valid answer
the alien box 2500 transmission tag must be told to ford.
or go to a tranny shop ask them for a look up
tag or photo the tag in hand.
or get the RPO list for both trucks
see Mxx numbers for tranny.
the 2500 uses at least 6 versions. of box. tranny codes IDs. M30 or MT1 and 4 engines

you do know each engine opted day one the gear ratios can be different. right?
the shop manual on the box shows huge table of variant for series 4L80
the codes are called by GM model codes.
(sub codes those are)_
the OSHD I THINK IS THAT CODE.(random gm 4L60/80 codehere)
I say read your C1500 RPO list see if it is M30 box
and buy , that box and model code matched.
know this too, GM will not have PCM programming for boxed not sold day1 new that C1500/
but do ask them. vast transmission exist for just 1 series.

the TCM (part of PCM) must like it, for sure ratios.

the old box has tag on the side, and is bingo for full and real p/n#

A FQ3 HAS A 2.86 FINAL DRIVE RATIO. Dont know why they wouldnt know that seeing as that is what that RPO means.

on the transmission you will see a tag attached to it with large letters an numbers. those numbers are the code for the trans matching to the computers set ratio of your transmission. you will need the exact same trans with that code or the check engine light will constantly stay on

yes they are the same transmission outside and have the same disignation of 42LE, but they may be different gear ratio's, they have tags on them that can id the internal differences, the 300 uses a 3.5 liter, which is not avail in the Conord

3.42, 3.08 and 3.73 ratios were used.

You need to get under the vehicle and check the tag which has the diff ratio printed on it. The ratios front and back will be the same but look at both tags.

the aan and mln is the modle it goes to. aan is for sls and the mln is for deville. as long as the conectors are the same thair should be no problems. i changed a 4t60e out of a 95 deville and the id tag was difrent then the replacement transmission id tag and a year later its still driving so . im gonna say ya it should be fine

Most auto parts stores can tell you from the tag which rear end you are using and the ratio

I presume you're asking if they will interchange?The 616 ASw tag number looks valid,that would be decoded,1996 year model.the 3rd 6 in "616" is the year model,and the ASw looks valid as the actual axle ratio code,which i will have to look up at work,but the second tag,recheck those numbers,i can't make any sense of them.

It physically will fit and bolt up,but there are many different ratio,and drive and driven sprocket tooth counts,different final drive ratios,all monitored by the computer with electronic speed sensors.If the trans from the 95 has a different ratio than the 93,the computer will set gear ratio error codes,and possibly put the trans in a failsafe mode,stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear.On the transmission case,down by where the passenger side axle would go in,is a thin metallic tag,maybe 2"x 3",and it has bar codes,and also a series of numbers and letters.The numbers and letters,large cap,are the final drive gear ratio code.They should match on the two transmissions in question.
