SOURCE: 2006 chevy cobalt woulnt start lock light is on

Are you using the original key that came with the car? The chip in that key may have gone bad. Try using the spare key that should have come with the purchase of the car. You may also be having battery issues. If all else fails....call the people who really know how to rape you...DUM Dum dummmmm....the dealer

SOURCE: how do i change the car battery for 2006 cobalt?

the battery is located in the trunk under the carpet where the spare tire is located, loosen the 10 mm nuts on the terminals and pull them off, gently pull the vent hose from the battery, loosen the bolt for the battery hold down, usually a 13mm or 15mm, remove battery and reverse the process to install

SOURCE: 2006 chevy cobalt - door won't open

Start with the basics. Check the fuses (all of them) with a test light and be sure you have power to each and that they are good. Then be sure that the power lock relay is good by swapping it with another relay in the fuse block. If the fuses are good and the relay is swapped and the locks still aren't functioning, you may have an issue with the BCM. The BCM can be programmed to change the behavior, but if the car has had water damage, or other stress to the BCM (voltage, heat, etc.), it can sometimes damage the BCM and you will need to replace it and reprogram it at a GM dealership.

Fault with the IAC valve.there maybe a trouble code associated with it also./ Go to your nearby autozone or auto parts retailer and ask them to put a scanner to the car....make note of the codes if any are found. the IAC valve i usually locate don the throttle body and can be removed for inspection and sometimes cleaning using a good throttle body cleaner spray and a pipe cleaner brush.

Make sure that the shift cable did not come loose when you replaced the NS switch.

I have a 2005 chevy cobalt, and it has been driving fine until a couple of months ago. One day it just started shaking and my engine light started to flash on and off. I got it checked out and they said it...

It sounds like the catalytic converter might have come loose causing a loud exhaust leak. Did they repair the problem that caused the converter to plug up like a defective oxygen sensor or coil pack?

This car is a 2006 Cobalt. It will start and run but the key won't come out of the ignition when I turn it off

If it is a floor shift automatic, there is a cable that comes up to the key. Shake the shift after in park or turn steering wheel side to side and see if that will work.

I own a 2006 Chevy Cobalt and the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably when the mile exceeds passed 50MPH. There is also a noise present that sounds like a wind tunnel of some sort. Thanks!

You need to get the tires checked out.You could just need a balance on them.As far as the noise. It is hard to tell you what to look for without actually hearing the noise.Does it sound like it is outside the vehicle, front, rear, tires, does it change at different speeds, does it do it all the time, warm cold? These are the things you have to find out.Hope this helps.Good luck.

2006 chevy cobalt. the key will not come out of

If the wheel is turned in either direction, pull the whell in that direction and try getting the key out. If that doesn't do it, try shifting the automatic transmission from Park back to drive, and then to park again to disengage the interlock.

Power steering failures on a 2007 chevy hhr while driving.

This is a known problem with the power steering which will probably require replacement of the power steering motor. The HHR uses an electric 12V DC motor to provide the power steering force, and they have started failing.

GM is recalling the Cobalt and other vehicles for this issue, but not yet the HHR. If you are out of warranty, you will probably be personally responsible for the cost of diagnostics and replacement.

You will probably need to contact your dealer unless you are able to replace the motor yourself. Sorry.
