The people who work at the emission inspection places are not technicians.The read codes and it is a matter of pass or fail.I would recommend paying for a real diagnostic with someone who is familiar with Volvos.It will same you money in the long run.Dont just replace parts.

CKP. Cam Position Sensor. Needs crank and cam sensor signal to work. Need codes pulled at diagnostic port on front fender.

Google 'Volvo Code pulling'' or similar, for sites explaining how to pull codes without a scanner.

The sensor in the bell housing goes bad too.

Check fuel pressure regulator.
Pull out vacuum line from regulator and see if there any gasolin inside . If there is , it's your problem. Broken diaphragm inside fuel pressure regulator.
Replace fuel pressure regulator.
If not , further diagnostics has to be performed by workshop.

Your problem is at your key. The switch in the steering colmb is cracked or worn out. When it happens, try rotating the key counter clockwise just a little bit and watch everything start to work.

old model ,dont know the answer to this one ,try the OBDII connector with a laptop and the interface is about all i can suggest .

Secondary air injection system valve a malfuntion (code 412)

its a diagnostic code, not sure of the exact meaning though. your best bet would be to try a volvo owners club or try volvo themselves. sorry cant help you any more.
