Ran out of gas refueled it but will not start now

Low battery may have caused the body control module to act up. Unhook the battery for a while and reconnect it.

Most likely air in the fuel system. Is there a primer button to push? If not, you will have to continually pull the cord to get it started and expell the air.In some cases, the fuel line will need to e disconnected and primed with fuel.

what fuel is it as it can be air in a diesel so you have to bleed it. or you have damaged your fuel pump in a gas car in the uk we call that a petrol car .you pump needs fuel to cool it.

its possible u may have burnt out the pump it uses the fuel to cool the pump

How did you "vent" the car ?
Usually the problem is a restriction in the filler neck, or the vent is not working for the tank allowing pressure to build up while refueling.

No fuel yet on engine manifold may take time to start until fuel is pumped into the manifold.

Sometimes a fuel pump will go bad if it has run dry. Is the car on a flat level surface? If not you may need more gas to reach pump.

bang on bottom of gas tank to unstick dry fuel pump motor,the gas is what keeps the fuel pump bearings lubed

The reason is: When you completely run out of gas your gas lines are completely drained of fuel. When you refuel the car the fuel lines are still empty, and you will need to crank the car until the fuel pump has filled the gas lines and established the correct fuel pressure.I also suggest you turn key to on position to let electrical system run fuel pump and when ready to crank over engine have battery hooked up to a battery charger this should do it!!

the electric fuel pump inside the tank needs fuel to cool itself. if you ran out of gas and tried to start several times it is possible to burn out the motor. also you will **** all the dirt inside the tank when this happens. either you have to replace the pump or you have clogged the filter
