I was trying to fix the brake lights, the car was running and i pulled the ''gauges'' fuse and the car died. I replaced the fuse and it did not start. There is no power to ANYTHING in the cabin no matter what position the key is at. No door chime, dome lamp ect. I tried checking the gauges fuse and all others i could find to see if maybe i shorted something but still no luck. Any ideas???
Try to reset the car battery
usually pulling small fuses wont short anything out but is more likey in older cars. if that doesnt work it could be a number of things. you could have fried the ignition if there is no power to anything get the battery checked get a continutity tester and test all the wires comming off the battery to the fuse boxes to the starter alternator ect..........maybe

The fuel gauge will be the tank sender unit fault--- The speedo will be the sender unit on the gear box playing up and the oil gauge will be a fault to the oil sender unit. The only common point is the earth which may be loose rusted
IS this a one time issue? IF so when the battery dies and is jump started, the voltages can be spiked or sag and this causes issues with the electronics in the boards. When you pull the fuse and put it back you are resetting it and not letting drop or sag or spikes happen. If the issue keeps happening then you need to look at for issues with bad connections on the boards or the BCM
Some thing in the instrument panel has shorted out or the wire from the fuse to the panel., pulling to many amps. If you could do without the panel for two days you would find out if it's the panel or the wires before. Electrical problems are no fun. I'm into a Ford that I just got running (second day) And there are still problems. (stupid computers). For the wires a good place to start is behind the fuse panel
Check or replace your fuses. This would be one of the round silver looking ones.
Or might be one of the black ones.
I had the same problem with my car. Had to keep taping on it till I replace it.
Mine was right by the steering column easy to reach while driving. LOL
Good luck.
Anytime when there is multiple issues, I pick one system when the problem is ongoing, check voltage and ground.
The fuses in picture is for instrument cluster, Check for voltage at the fuses when problem is ongoing. Use a test lite. As you can see, one fuse is hot all the time, the other goes hot with the key on.
You need to replace the TCC solenoid under the side cover pan of the transmission. You can also unplug the wires that go to the transmission in the front. After that it will not go into overdrive but it will stay running at stop lights untill you have it repaired.
Alright ill give it a shot!!
Thanks!
