check fuses and relays ---turn on system open hood if compressor is running check blend door for problem if not running possible low on freon , wiring /connection ,compressor damaged ---check switch ,fuses relays power to clutch [not when vehicle running ] and freon

if the clutch is turning on that fuse is good check the cooling fan if it doesn't work it will not cool the freon

if the fuses are good and its full of freon. check the a/c relay in fuse box for power. the relay may be bad.

Hi,
With engine running, I would check to see if the compressor clutch is engaging when the AC is turned on. If not, I would first have the freon level checked. If after checking, it is fully charged but not engaging, I would then suspect an AC relay switch.

make sure you check A/C fuse and relay. Is the compressor **** on when you turn on A/C?.

sounds like there may be a blockage in the vents, or one of the diffuser flaps are stuck shut.

every vehicle develop small leaks over period of time or soon will quit, its common for all vehicle although parts tend to ware and brakes. I would first check the fuses and relays making sure they are good. second check the pressure and the pressure switch. if you systems running low on refrigerant (feon) than you have small leaks or running low. if there not enough pressure in your systems than it wont trigger the switch to run the compressor and that may not cause the AC unit not to run. If your ac just quit running all of sudden, more likely its probably low on freon, than again switch may also be bad. if everything check out as fuses,switch,pressure than next would compressor.the switch will have two wire to it, location can be on the line, on compressor, evaporator and for most of kia on top of the dryer.I would have the systems check for proper pressure before you start replacing different parts. want to save some money, you can get most expensive parts from a junk yard, like compressor, evaporator and motors.

The compressor probably isn't kicking on beacuse it is low on freon. It won't take freon when you try because the compressor needs to be running to draw it in. Sounds like a catch 22 doesn't it? There is a low pressure switch either in the filter/drier, or on the low pressure line. If you unplug the switch and hook a jumper between the two pins, the compressor should kick on, allowing you to add freon. Hope this helps...

With the engine NOT running, pull the connection to the compressor clutch and hit the terminals with 12 volts from the battery. If the clutch clicks it's OK and probably is not working because of a low freon interlock if there is one.

You said you added a can of freon...... was the clutch working when you did this? If it all went sour when you added the can , could you have done it wrong and dumped the rest of the freon?
