Engine ground strap separated on Cadillac deville 2000 where is it located
Ground straps on engines are either from the battery earth post to the engine or to a body point . If it is to a body earth point the engine earth strap will be around an engine mount. From the engine bolt around the rubber to the body mount bolt. probably on the mount closest to the battery
I called caddy dealership and was told I needed an 11" strap and it's suppose to start at the frame but thats all I was told. they won't give me ay more info.
I woild suggest that you use a bolt on the engine closest to the negative pole of the battery and fix it there. It could be an accessory bolt ( alternator -ac compressor--power steering). This will earth out the engine and then get aother strap and bolt it from one side of an engine mount to the other side of the mount and that will earth the body back to the battery via the engine. This is how it was done on older cars.

the fuel filter is located on the drivers side under neath where the rear seat would be connected to the frame. relieve fuel system pressure,disconnect negative terminal from the battery,raise rear of vehicleand support it securily on jackstands,detach fuel lines from the filter,some have quick connect . squeeze plastic tabs to pull the connector apart,if it has threaded fiting unscrew the fuel line from the filter.

If you like go ahead and let someone sell and replace your transmission but here is my suggestion! Check around and see if you can find a minor vacuum leak! This can simply be the big round hose that goes from the fuel injection to the power brake hub! This is normally a push in connector which has about a 1/2 inch hose clamped on it! If there is any kink or the connector is not in correctly a leak will occur and the transmission will shift rough as though you will be thrown out of the vehicle! Try unplugging this connector and plug it back in hard and straight and maybe you will be lucky and fix your problem. If the vacuum is correct your transmission will shift better than you have ever experienced!
