FUEL FILTER,,IF IT IS OLD-REPLACE!
FUEL PUMP NOT REALLY SUSPECT.....BUT POSSIBLE AS IN A THERMAL SHORTING (AFTER A SHORT TIME)
YOU HAVE TO DETERMINE WHETHER THIS DELAYED STALL ISSUE, IS COMING FROM A FUEL OR ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION. IE: ELECTRIC CUT OUT...SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER...FUEL ISSUES: ROUGH RU..THEN SHUTS DOWNNING, BUCKING & SURGING

Hi, when you turn the ignition to start that the engine turning not at all. If your car engine turning but do not pick up. There is only this three things can start your car. 1- Fuel 2- Spark 3- Compression. If you have fuel look for spark, If you have spark look for fuel, if you have both do compression test. If no spark check your leads or coil packs if no fuel check your filter is not block it or fuel pump. If your engine is not turning at all check your battery or your starter. Give more information do you have pack coil for each plugs or loose plugs wires.
There may be an air lock in the fuel line or fuel pump. Pour some
fuel in the carby and start the engine. You may need to do this a few
times to get the air lock out of your fuel line/pump.
You meant to say "hear the fuel pump turn on", not the fuel filter. The filter is just that...a filter. No mechanical parts in it. Anyways, if you didn't hear the fuel pump turn on, that means it's not getting power. This is either an electrical problem, or the fuel pump is dead, jim.
You can confirm that it is the fuel pump by spraying gas inside the intake plenum (where it sucks in air). Don't spray too much, doing this is dangerous. In fact I'd recommend a shop perform this diagnostic procedure.
Replace the fuel pump if that's what the problem is.
