Could be the starter solenoid is going south or also an ignition could be a culprit. try to duplicate the condition and gently tap the side of the starter with a hammer while someone else holds the key over in the start position. be careful while doing this. if the starter turns when you tap it, the brushes inside the starter itself are gone and the starter needs replacing.

SOURCE: how to replace a crank sensor on a 93 buick regal 3.8L engine

Im assuming this is the Series I 3800? If so, if you can email me I can send you some directions on the process. Its for a Series II 3800 but it should be similar. If you cant email me, post up and I'll see what I can do.

SOURCE: pass key stays on1995 buick roadmaster car want crank

Short circuit probably not the problem. The pass key system is not being disabled making the car inoperable, thats why it will not crank. Either you are using a key that does not have the correct resistance(black chip in key) or if it is the same key you always used then the pass key sensor went bad. I believe it is in the steering column and a qualified mechanic could help you there.

Have a 1995 Buick Regal 3.8L, after driving about 80-90 miles the engine stops, let it cool down and will start up and drive away, the coil packs been changed????

The crank position sensor on your 3800 sounds like it is going bad...this is sometimes difficult to show up on diagnostics...The part is about $35...location is near the main crank pulley...Hope this helps.

On frist attemp to start car, cranks then dies after few seconds ckd fuel rail , had no pressure , replaced fuel pump regulator , no help !

do you hear the fuel pump turn on when you turn the key to the run position? If not the check the fuel pump relay.

If the car will start and run for a few seconds then die, It may well be the crank position sensor.

When wipers are turned off they park in vertical on my 2002 Buick Regal. It started after I had to clean a bunch of snow off my windshield. Did I bump something with my snow brush?

This is most likely the result of a bent park tab on the wiper motor bracket. To repair this install a new wiper motor crank arm (#12494832) and a wiper motor bracket service kit (#88958149). This is a common problem among many 2002 Buick Regals and Centurys.

I have a 1999 buick regal ls dying.

I have a 99 Buick Regal and it too dies out, but only when I use my turn signals. Sometimes, when trying to start the car...the dash lights would flicker and you can hear some sort of electrical ticking sound. As of today, my car will not start (5/24/09) it hadn't turned over since yesterday. After a process of elimination and searching the net, I think I need a new ignition switch. You may need one as well.
