Several days ago, I noticed the rear brake lights were still on after I parked my car. The only way I could get them to turn off was to pull the fuse. I have tried to locate the switch that is normally situated under the brake pedal, however, I am not finding it. I have tried replacing the bulbs, but did not correct the problem. What should I do?
There's a small rubber pad which sits on the brake pedal arm, and holds the brake light switch OFF when the pedal is released. When this rubber pad falls off, the brake light switch is on all the time, not just when the pedal is pressed down. Find the rubber pad, and glue it back on, or make a replacement from cardboard, duct tape, whatever.
I assure that there is a brake lamp switch on your brake pedal, try feeling all the way up the pedal shaft, if you still dont find it, i suggest you buy the haynes repair manual for that vehicle, it will tell you exactly where it is.
I have a 2001 hyundai accent. my brake lights stay on even when i disconnected the wire to to switch.

You need to check the water pump and thermostate.
It looks like either thermostate get stuck or water pump died.
In a future it can cuse the head gaskette to die due to overheat
So have it checked
There is one good article here about the common reasons for overheating
