Tachometer Wire Negative Wire Location: At Igniton Coils

According to wiring diagrams online... good luck with this.

bad tach, or bad wires to it or power to it bad.
i dont know what engine option you have
but most use the ignitor signal to do this.
later about 1996 the ECU uses CKP sensor to run the tach directly
in that case bad tach, bad wires to tach or bad power feed to it.
it only has 3 wires.

I have no fire in my spark plug wires and i'v replaced everything.

Try disconnecting the four wire connector at the distributor, jumper terminals "A" and "C"(black to green) on the distributor side. this eliminates the ESC module and lets you deal with basic HEI. ohm the pickup coil 500-1500 ohms.use an ac volt meter white wire and green wire in the dist.,crank the engine.at least .5 vac, usually about 1volt.low voltage with a good pickup means a weak magnet.New cap& rotor? I've seen rotors burn thru...they look fine but will arc down to the advance weights.Make sure you have at least 9v at the big pink wire while cranking.disconnect any aftermarket tach, unplug the factory tach at the cap...If you installed a hi output coil, they are tough on ignition modules...Some things to try.

Finding the wire that goes to the factory tackometer.

no, you need to buy an autometer tach adapter and tap it in to the harness on the passenger side firewall then run your tach from the tach adapter to your car. Dont mess with the cluster.
go to autometes website and it will tell you how to wire and what pin to splice in. The whole thing will take like 10min to do.

2000 s-10 pickup 2.2 ltr

as far as i know all of the 97 s-10 came with these unless it is an automatic, they dont have thre prewiring for the tach but you can get a signal interceptor that goes beween the computer harness and the computer that will pick up the crank sensor's signal and send it to an aftermarket tach
