The brake light on the back door works, the turning signal works on both sides however the brake light, which is the same bulb as the turning signal, doesnt work,
Try checking the brake light switch attached to the brake pedal, very common problem. has about 5 contacts in it ,they all operate different things. If you have a scan tool with live data readings you can watch them all. also check fuses and bulbs ,but you say the signals work so that seems ok.

My guess is one of those lamps is burned out, therefore not sending current to the next. My second guess is that the license plate light is last in line, so I would start with the left tail light
I would check the turn signal switch. The cruise and turn signal are on the same switch. The brake lights go through the switch before going to the brake lights. And the turn signals don't work with the ignition off.
There were problems with the circuit board assemblies on the earlier years of the Envoy. Also check the socket for the brake light, make sure the contacts are OK.
The Trailblazers have a common problem with the printed circuit boards in the tail lamp housing.
Unplug the tail lamp housing at the wiring connector and test for power with a test light. ( With turn signals on) You may have an open circuit in the lamp housing circuit board. Good luck
the problen is probably the turn signal switch with a test light check for power at brake switch if no power check for power at turn signal switch the brake lights are incorperated through the turn signal switch
