Enginge idiling ruff loss of power - 750 BMW Cars & Trucks

    I've solved part of the problem, by replacing the coil pack on cylnder 2 as indecated by a tester I had barrowed,its shown improvement since replacing it,but its still idiling ruff and a significant loss of power under load.

It could be many things but my guess is that you have a cylinder misfire. Depending on the year of your car you can have the system scanned by the dealership (or some auto parts stores like Autozone will do it for free) and find out which cylinder is bad. If you don't have access to a scanner, try replacing all the spark plugs, it's inexpensive and will likely solve the problem.

Check the coils, there may be a bad coil. That lets moisture in it, and causes the engine to mis fire. God-Bless! Its worth a try!

First was it doing that before you changed the timing chain and second I have a 2005 Ford escape that was doing the same.I found some vacuum lines that had some small cracks in them so check all the vacuum lines and see if that helps.Good luck
