Suddenly the car die at idle, sometimes it get very high rpm (>2000) when not touching the gas pedal. When I press the gas it most often die. If I press it gently I could go between some of the higher rpm's without to much problem. I have error: P0068 map/maf throttle position correlation. I have also previos got error code related to mass/meter and this I replaced now and got no improvement. I have tried to clean the throttle body without removing it completely and it was dirty but did not help. Compared to other stories this car is not possible to drive and if I remove the Mass-meter(not cable) engine stop directly.
I would start by unplugging the throttle position sensor then start it and see if there is a change. Could also be the slow idle sensor or the crank position sensor? Have you looked that code up or had it computer checked? most the auto part stores here will let you use one in the parking lot hope that helps

The coolant temp sensor sends signal to the ECU and the ECU adjusts the idle RPM. When the coolant is cold, the engine requires more fuel to sustain idle with thick oil (oil gets thicker & more viscous when cold). This makes the engine to idle at faster RPM but it should settle down to 850 RPM or so after the coolant warms up. The sensor is nothing but a thermistor; a device that changes electrical resistance according to the coolant temperature.

I had a similar problem that stalling when slowing down to stop and removing the foot from accelerator pedal. This had been ongoing for almost 6 months. I have taken it to the big service companies who spent hours changing lambda sensors etc....After doing a bit of investiagtion seen that other owners of same car had the throttle valve cleaned (apparently this is required every 30K). I took it to our local one man garage. He reported that he fiddled around with throttle valve using solvent cleaner and general poke around for approx 10 minutes. Since then the car has worked perfectly and has not stalled since. RECOMMEND - MUST CHECK THROTTLE VALVE CLEANED.

Hi. I provided you a document or this particular code. There are parts that needs to be checked. Please click here.
Yes, having no thermostat can cause the car to run fast as it will still be set in it's "warm up" mode and will be injecting a richer mixture of fuel/air into the cylinders. There may be an additional cold start injector that just works while the engine is cold. You will probably use more fuel like this. It's not a great idea to run with no thermostat anyway because you get uneven hot and cold spots around the engine which is bad for it. Cheers

Engine stalls cold or RPM
fluctuates at idle up and down or dies near idle.
This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve but always run a OBD2 fault code as well as the cleaning procedure. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control. If the above cleaning doesn't cure your issues you need to have the computer controlled automatic idle speed control system diagnosed and repaired by a dealer or electronic engine control repair shop.

Thanks for suggestion, I just solved the problem and would like to share it. It turned out that a hose was broken/loose at the end. In the picture I'm holding the pice where the hose was "not" connected and the thumb is where it is mounted.
