1999 Infinity QX4. Door Open warning light

Can you tape a coin or two onto the door at the spot that hits the light switch? If not, just remove the bulbs.

that sounds like the central locking controlling lock is malfunctioning , if it is the drivers door then that lock is the control lock and need replacing

Open each door (one at a time) with the car running and parked.
Look for the small contact switch that tells the car the door is open/shut.
See image for location.
Press that switch in firmly and watch the dash to see if the light comes on while you are pressing.
This will tell you which one of the switches is bad.

there is a bad door sensor on one of your doors or the rear hatch. This is a tedious process go to each door with the other doors closed and unplug sensor till light goes off.

Sounds silly but this is how i fixed my bell ringing. !st the ringing is the alarm when you open the door and the key is in the ignition or the car is running. I found the push switches that are on the side of the car and are operated when the door is shut have become loose. All you need to do is tighten them up a bit and the bell ringing will stop. When you make your right turn you probably push a bit on the door and that helps open the switch more. The switches are the contact switches that turn on the light as well as the warning sensors for open door. See if your dome lights flicker a bit as well.

Making an assumption that the TC and the F150 use the same door latch warning indicator.

If this is the case, spraying the door latch with WD-40 really well should cure the problem. Spray the latch, open and close the door a few times, and spray again.

The switch is part of the door latch on the F150, and this is the input sent to the warning system.

switches are in the latch and you will have to start by turning the ignition key to on and then open and close each door. when you get to the door that doesn't make a chime sound when opened or closed. that is the door with the latch problem. you will need to replace the switch for that latch

I suspect you have a bad door ajar switch on one of your doors.

The switch is on the door latch. try pushing each door in with your hand one at a time and see if the warning goes away.
The Lighting control module is $500 and controls a lot of the vehicle functions. It is part of the headlamp switch. It has to be configured by the dealer with his NGS tester before it will work. Ebay has them cheap sometimes. Only buy Continental LCM for your model year.

When at least one door is ajar and the key is in the RUN position, the door ajar cluster lamp is activated and remains on until all doors are closed. A warning tone will sound once any time the key is in the ignition switch and any door is open.

remove the door trim panel to access the door ajar switch.


Remove the door open warning switch by turning it counterclockwise.

Trim Panel —Front Door Removal

1. Remove the screw cover.

1. Remove the screws.

1. Remove the front door trim panel (23942) from the door.

1. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the front door trim panel.

Installation

1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

it is your door switch.you need to replace it.since the door is open as far as the computer is concerned,it will set off the alarm.

I drive a 2000 5series and the only light that sounds similar is the radiator low water warning light. worth a check.
