Passenger side in the footwell, there should be a wiring harness running to it. May have to look up underneath the dash a little but its there.

SOURCE: Heater

check the schematic diagram as there is more than one ground in that circuit.the dropping resistors are parallel to ground not series.the only one grounded is the highest setting, which has no resistor.

Blower motor problems

If ,and when, your blower motor has problems, and it will not blow on the low speeds, consider the blower resister,it is what controls the speeds for your blower motor. Now,replacing the blower resister is the thing to do,but two things to check for also,,the connector to the blower resister, and to the back of the fan select switch, the one you control,on the dash. These connectors, including the fan switch can be burned, and need replacing also. Now the reason these go out,and burn, and melt the connectors,is,that the blower motor is pulling too many amps, even though the blower motor runs great, and sounds good, trust me,the blower motor is the reason,so replace all of these parts when you replace the resister. If the connectors are fine, and the blower switch is fine,of course they will not need to be replaced, but the blower motor is a must,or you just might have to do it all over again in a few months, along with the switch, and connectors I mentioned.

When I turn on my a/c in my 2000 X-terra (3.3L V6) I have to put it on full blast or it will not work. The levels are from 0-4 and if it is not on 4 nothing comes out. I checked the relays and fuses...

It's most likely your blower motor resitor or at least this is a very good possible cause of what your problem is. Yes you could have something in the panel but you can check that to see if you are getting power down to the blower motor when the switch is turned to the settings that do not seem to work (1 - 3). If you're getting power down there during those times it's not the panel. Below is a picture of the location of the blower motor resister, a picture of what the plug looks like with numbers and the amount of resistance you should have for the different locations in the outlet to see if it is a faulty resistor. If you are mechanical at all and own or can purchase a digital ohm meter you can check it before you start to buy stuff that is not needed. If you have questions like more testing procedures and such, feel free to email me at [email protected] with the question or needs and I will be happy to try and help if I am able. I do have the factory service manual for your vehicle so I pretty much have detailed instructions on things so don't hesitate to write. I hope this helps you and good luck.

Blower motor only runs on high

It is the blower motor resister next to the blower motor,it is what controls the speeds. It will have about 7 wires that plug into it,and it is most likely mounted with two screws,it will actually mount on the out side, but fits inside the blower box,to keep it cool, now, even though the blower motor may run quite, and smooth,it is pulling to many amps, this is what causes the resister to go out,my suggestion,is to replace the blower motor also,or you will be replacing the resister often.

How do I remove and replace Corolla 2006 blower motor?

Well the blower motor is underneath the dash on the passenger footwell, you have to remove the glove compartment to gainaccess to the blower, it ahas 3 or 4 bolts holding the motor, remove and replace with new unit, it is a good idea to replace the filter once the motor is removed.

The blower motor resistor is out on my 2004 dodge stratus.

Hi my name is Allen!

The blower motor resister is located on the passenger side under the dash, it's mounted on the bottom of the A/C Housing.

If you bought the resister from the dealership you will need to make the hole larger for the new style resister so it will fit.

You should also replace the blower motor, because the resistance built up inside the motor is what damages the resister.

Lights out

The radio light is a separate issue and not related, the radio needs to be pulled out and a tiny bulb inside the radio replaced that lites up the display, the other issue is caused by a burnt out blower speed controller circuit or module.
