Charging problem

Check that your alternator is actually charging the battery. With volt meter and car running check for at least 13.5 volts at battery. If not check fuses, big red wire from alternator to battery and for actual output of alternator at bolt where big red wire attaches to alternator. Should have battery voltage with car not running and at least 13.5 when engine is idling(motor running)

I have a 2006 dodge magnum 2.7 with 136k miles, I changed the coil pack, spark plugs & a new throttle body all OEM parts... Once the car warms up my idle drops to 625-700 but it feels like it wants to...

Hi Gabro
try this procedure and let me know if it work.make sure the engine is in normal temperature, all accessories are off.
start the engine and let it idle for 1 minute.
put the selector into D and let the engine idle for 30 seconds.
turn the AC on and let the engine idle for 30 seconds.
turn the AC off and let the engine idle for 30 seconds.
put the selector into P and let the engine idle for 30 seconds.
switch engine OFF for 2 minutes.

My Hummer H2 2003 model had a problem starting when its warm. Like when I start it in the morning, its normal, but after driving it for a few minutes and the engine is warm, I had difficulty starting

I had this same problem with my 2003 H2, my mechanic found that the fuel diaphragm was cracked and this was allowing my truck to flood. If it was a cold start, the extra fuel would evaporate and it would start fine. It actually got to the point where I would stall at a stop light or stop sign at idle. The part was is the neighborhood of $175.00 and about 1 hour of labor to install.

ENGINE OVERHEATING DUE TO AC

Does the engine have an electric fan on it? If it does, make sure it's coming on when engine warms up. If not check fuses. If there is no fuse, replace fan motor. Hope this helps.

Astrostart 2100 autostart will not work all the time

It would almost appear that your battery is weak. If the engine doesn't freely turn over the remote start will not work because it recognizes the problem. I would also hope that you plug in your block heater when it's really cold.

Vitara JX 1.6 soft-top. Made in Spain 1998. Engine runs at 2000rpm when cold and only returns to idle after 10 mins or 6 miles in warm conditions. Can i adjust anything ? ps. I live in England

maybe slow, cold start, air control valve or,possibly normal for temp in morning,I live in Australia and cars can take ages to slow down in winter eg1 to 3 deg cel...and very quickly warm up in summer..eg....idle slows down in 1/4 time, have a look at the car if you can park it in warmer conds... to see if its quicker as Toyotas do this normally for fast warm up,lastly has it been well serviced...looked after??

1991 chevy S10 blazer fluctuating oil pressure

I assume from the year it has high mileage. With mileage comes wear in these engine's bearings allowing oil pressure to drop because of the excess clearance between cam and bearings, also the crank and bearings. When the engine is hot and idling the oil is thinner and goes by the bearings quicker. If you have good oil pressure while driving, I'd leave it alone, maybe use a thicker oil or some lucas additive. My 89 does the same thing sometimes in the summer, but don't remember it doing it this summer. I use Mobil-1 and an AC Delco filter.

96 tracker overheats at highway speeds temp ok at idle or low speed. Replaced water pump thermostat flushed rad checked hoses. any ideas?

Presurize system with radiator cap on to see if you are holding 10 to 13 LB pressure as high as 17 LB. Get new radiator cap for your radiator. Check for a slow leak at pump hose thermostat conection , is it wet ?
Do you have a Summer Thermostat ?

Overhaul of the top in of 2003 jeep 4.7. It had jumped time, broke a valve spring and bent a valve. After the overhaul oil pressure at idle drops to 0 after the engine warms up. No engine noise what so...

First thing you need to do is put a mechanical gauge in place of oil sender and read actual oil pressure. If mechanical gauge shows same condition, take a look at the connecting rod bearing serving the cylinder where the valve bent. If the piston hit the valve hard enough it may have created a flat spot on the bearing that is permitting oil to bypass the bearing, That won't knock right away because the bearing is still supporting the rod, unlike when the bearing bore has worn all the way around, and is loose. Bearings are made from soft metal, so that they can absorb a certain amount of dirt without damaging the crank. Being soft, they can easily be deformed.
If mechanical gauge shows no problems, just replace the original sending unit with a new one..
