I had a trans put in My 1995 impala SS and now my car is running ruff like it has a mis-fire. Black smoke comes out the tail when a start it. Check engine light is flashing.
Black smoke is an indicator of too much fuel not burning in the combustion chamber, or too much carbon build up in the exhaust. you might have an injector problem, i.e. 2 much gas overloading somewhere.

sounds like u have an e4od trans with a torque converter that is slipping when it try's to lock in. if you can live with it drive it if not have a new or rebuilt torque converter put in with a new seal. fords e4od trans have had all updates and modifications as of 1995. mine has been shifting ruff for the last 4 years. I will drive mine until it quits if it does.
Hi Mike, Seems to me you have an electronic management problem. The fire must have caused short circuits and has maybe damaged the on board computer. Sort out the short circuits first and then carry out another scan and see what comes up. The traction control is incorporated as part of the ABS system, using many of the same sensors for operation. The problems you relate can have been caused by incorrect signals from the management system. regards John
It seems that the "black bolt" is the bolt-shaped sheet metal around the fitting for your trans cooler line. If you are certain that your connection is good and the leak is coming from around that fitting then you will have to replace your radiator as the area around the fitting is probably cracked. Take a good close-up look, with an inspection mirror and a light, to try to determine from where the fluid is leaking. Does your other line have an O-ring?
