Here is a diagram of the cylinder layout and the firing order. Position of coil pack may vary by model year.
Firng order 1-4-2-5-3-6

Here is a diagram of your Accent firing order, the year makes no difference:-

firing order is 1-3-4-2. Cylinder 1 is the one closest to the Passenger side tire. coils are 2-4-3-1 front to back.

The firing order for a 2.0L DOHC 4 cyl....is 1-3-4-2...........

Use diagram below to determine location of 1-4 cylinders.....

I was wrong about the distributor being round (I was thinking about my other car). I found variations about the firing order but after troubbleshooting, varified the plug wiring order from the front of the car is 1 - 4 - 5 - 2 - 3 - 6 not 1 - 4 - 5 - 2 - 6 - 3 found on several web sites. From the front of the car looking at the engine, the back three cylinders by the firewall going from left to right are 1, 3, 5. The front three are 2, 4 & 6.
