Remove the plastic cover that goes over the engine (the one with the Hyundai logo).
At this point, you will see the cables that goe to each fo the spark plugs.
Noting their position, remove them.
The spark plugs are ready to be removed, turn counterclockwise and replace with manufacturer recomended ones.

SOURCE: changing spark plugs

You most likely have a big cover over the engine that is covering everything up. If you can get that off (sorry, I've never removed one) you should be able to see the plug wires/coil on plugs, whichever the vehicle has. 4 or either 6 depending on the number of cylinders. You may just see black rubber looking caps. Plugs are under them.

lift the tailgate, and you should see 2 screws on the side of the lamp assembly. remove the screws, and remove the lamp assembly by sliding it sideways away from the vehicle. you will be able to access the bulbs & sockets once the taillamp has been released.

Where does the spark come from on a 2002 santa fe 4 cyl.

On your Santa Fe, each spark plug has it's own "coil". the computer sends a signal to the coil at the precise moment that it needs to provide power for the spark plug.
