The 318 is fuel injected and has no automatic choke,it does have a cold start system to aid in cold starts, the most likely cause of your problem is a bad or dirty throttle position sensor.you may also need to clean the throttle body and throttle linkages or cables

Car very hard to start in morning and when do finaly get it started revs right up and shakes bad till it warms up then revs just shake up and down 1996 323f 1.5

If the engine has a carb, I would say that the choke is stuck open. Check and use some penetrating oil to free the choke butterfly valves. Spray on the shaft and move the valves till they operate freely. If it is an automatic choke see that it opens and closes as the engine heats and cools.

98 slk 230 komppressor revs smooth through to 3000 revs then stutters as if its hitting a rev limiter and won't rev anymore, i have been told it may be an air intake issue can you help?

it going into limp mode the most common problem is the air mass sensor it sends message to your ecu this is why it wont rev past 3000 the sensor is in the airfilter and intake pipe hope this helps
