1997 Cavalier while you driving hesitates and stall

1997 Cavalier while you driving hesitates and quits, starts ok 3 to 4 minutes later. After starting if I accelerate slowly it works fine and becomes normal after while, but if push the pedal fast it will stall again. Works fine for a month or more, and could happen twice a day.

Sometimes when I try to start the car, it will run for about 3 seconds, then shuts off. It's been doing this for over a year. I've had it towed to the dealer 8 times and they can't find the problem...it doesn't duplicate. Then the car started hesitating on acceleration through 1st and 2nd gears. Once I build up speed, it's ok. The dealer replaced a crank case sensor and another sensor...and it worked for one month. Now it's doing all of the above. Signed, Frustrated.

Sounds like the engine is starving for fuel. You might try changing the fuel filter. It also cold be water in your fuel tank. Try putting some dry gas in the tank.

The choke function is not working on a cold engine.
1 clean throttle body and IAC motor air pathways.
2. Check for engine codes, you are looking for a code that relatws to the wngine temperature sensor.

97 cavalier starts and runs ok from a cold start after a few minutes of warm up it starts to run rough and miss. If i try to drive it it will start out ok but won't shift automaticly but shifts fine m

Sounds like possibly more than on problem, crankshaft position sensor, or ignition module likely on starting prob which maybe affecting shifting due to hard code in ecm, or shift prob could be shift solenoid in valve body of transmission. Both parts readily available from local parts store

Suburban stalls while driving after running for 15-30 minutes. After letting it sit for 5-10 min it runs fine for another 5-10 minutes, then starts doing it all over again.

a bad crank sensor can cause this. shuts off while going down road, and will start about 10 min, later with no problems runs fine until it quits again. hope this helps,
