Question about 1997 Mercury Mountaineer
Sound like engine over heating cooling fan clutch could be faulty freewheeling.

Testimonial: "On a cold start, it will start & idle fine. Will continue to run fine, no power loss or anything until car warms up AND you shut off car. Once car is shut off, has trouble starting, when does start, putts then stalls. Like I said, once car is warmed up, fuel pump doesn't kick on. Heard many things from relay, fuel pump, fuel module, plugs, wire, coil pack but still no answers"

check for vacuum leaks,especially at fuel control valves,intake manifold.locate T P [throttle position]Sensor,on intake,opposite throttle lever.check wiring connector,spray sensor with WD 40 or CRC,if a change is noted,replace T P S.
