The rear hatch chain on my 2010 Chrysler T&C broke and I was told the chain and the motor are one piece so the entire motor would need to be replaced. Does anyone know how true this is? Seems like a chain would be an easy fix.

It's for a 2010 model, not 2007. Not sure why that year posted to my question.

It's the same chain that's used on electric scooters. A #25 chain. Go to electricscooterparts.com. The item numbers are CHN-HD2548 for about a foot of chain-get more if needed, CHN-HD25ML for the master link, CHN-HL for a half link and CHN-25HL for a link and a half just in case. All for less than $20

It can only be replaced as an assembly, the chain itself cannot be repaired

The chain CAN be fixed. #25 chain. See K Chan response for more information.

SOURCE: 1998 Chrysler Town Country 3.8L Does it Have Timing Belt Or Chain

your engine does have a timing chain, these are very durable, there is no set maintenence interval for them. you can tell how much chain slack you have by gabbing your crankshaft pulley with both hands and rotating it back and forth to feel the chain tightening, it should be a minimul amount of rotation. you should get well over 200k mi. of service without worry. i hope this answers your questions, or at least sets your mind at ease.

SOURCE: broken hydraulic arm on rear hatch of 2000 Chrysler T & C

if the bolt itself is broke try getting it off with a pair of vice grips if the bolt sticks out enough otherwise you could take it to a welding shop and have them weld a nut onto the bolt so you could get it out and go to the dealer and buy a new one.

SOURCE: my 98 chrysler cirrus is lesking water and im told

First open the hood of your car and check where the leak is coming. Thermostat gasket is one source but
it could also come the radiator, radiator hose, or the
water pump. Check all these items, and you can do
the repairs by replacing the defective parts. Except for
water pump that really needs a mechanic to replace the
bearings and the mechanical shaft seal.

There is a emergency release on the left rear seat latch that allows you when pulled to push the seat open to gain access that way, not through the trunk hatch

Rear wiper Don't work

Hi,
There is an electric motor that runs the wiper in the rear hatch. Remove the rear plastic panel and verify that the motor is getting 12 volts, using a multi-meter. If it is, then the motor needs replaced. If not then the wiring is likely bad between the switch on the dash/stalk and the rear wiper. The wiring may have broken where it goes into the rear hatch, also.

Rear hatch will not open sound like the motor works but will not relase latch

there's a plastic actuator inside the tailgate that probably broke or at least came loose. You have to crawl into the back and release it. I ended up having to cut a little piece of carpet in the middle on the top of the tailgate area. Right where it fastens. You can manually release the glass with a screwdriver at that point. To replace the actuator, you need to take off the entire tailgate trim and metal underneath that to get to it. It sounds like a pain but trust me, not having the back glass be able to open or the tailgate area is much worse. It takes about 45 minutes to fix. The actuators are less than $10

Does the hatch open up electrically??? If not, then just take off the hinge bolts and struts, hold the new door in place, re install the bolts ( without tightening them completely) and then shut the door and see where it has to be adjusted correctly to close easily. Then you can tighten the bolts tightly and re install the struts. You will need at least 3 people to help.

Rear hatch will not unlock on my 05 Denali

Check the unlock mechanism for the hatch. These are controlled by an electrical motor pulling a cable. If the cable came loose you might or might not hear the click click that it makes. I would also check the fuses and relays related to the system. Usually if you can get the interior panel off all the innards are exposed. I would suggest pulling that panel off, then triggering the keyless remote and see if anything moves, that might pinpoint where it has gone bad.
