2006 Pontiac Torrent>>>when brakes applied over 45 mph, it feels like the whole front and steering wheel is shaking and vibrating.

Check the ball joints and cv axles this could cause the car to shake violently and most tire stores will check them for you for free.

YOU DONT HAVE POWER STEERING PUMP FLUID RESERVOIR ANY MORE INSTEAD.YOU HAVE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR.

SOURCE: No clunking until replaced front end brake pads

1. Have the caliper checked if the retaining bolts are fully tightened and all shims and pins are properly installed. 2. Was your rotors resurfaced??If not, The new pads are flat(new), and the rotor might be uneven causing the pads to vibrate. 3. If they aren't the rotors, inspect the CV shafts for tightening, or damage. Hopefully this helps

This sounds to me like an issue with your front brakes, these symtoms can be caused by the front rotors on your vehicle being warped and causing the vibration when you apply the brakes. I would have the front rotors measured to check for run-out and also to see if they need to be replaced or if they can be machined to be made smooth again.

you have a wheel calber sticking,replace them or rebuild them.or maybe just clean them with 10w40,if you live in snow country with a lot of salt,i would recommend replaceing them
