If the vehicle starts fine but it dies after a few seconds that indicates it can supply enough fuel for an initial start, but once the engine is running, it cannot keep up. Make sure the carburetor and fuel injector are correct.

SOURCE: location of fuel pump relay (1990 hyundai sonata)

The fuse box is located low on the left side of the dashboard behind a cover, or at the left side kick panel, behind a cover.

Relay Box -is located under the left side of the dash as well.

SOURCE: When I pump gas into my 2000 Hyundai Sonata my car

It is possible that when fueling, the fuel is aerated and the pump pulls agitated fuel into the system. you can thry this, fuel up as normal, but wait five or more minutes before starting. see what happens. good luck

SOURCE: My hyundai is making a rattling noise

that sounds like what we call "spark knock" that occurs when u accellerate quickly, but yes it will go away in a few seconds when the computer detects this condition. with the economy the way it is it will be more expensive, but try running higher octane gasoline in it, should cure this condition. hope that helped you!!

Where should I start looking for a solution to my 05 Hyundai Sonata crank/no start?

Nicole 3 things keep a motor from starting.1. NO SPARK, 2. NO FUEL,. 3 ENGINE DAMAGE. Check to see if it has spark..
if it has spark its probably loss of fuel.. can be a clogged fuel filter or a inoperative fuel pump..

WHERE IS THE FUEL CUTOFF SWITCH ON THE 2007 HYUNDAI SONATA

No cutoff switch on Hyundai cars. Only Ford products.
The fuel pump and injectors get power from the engine control relay.

Can't get the car started. been sitting for a few months. starter fluid gets it going for just a few seconds. car has gas. EFI. Any suggestions or good web sites for research. Thanks

Starter fluid gets it going would say that it has spark so the problem must lie in the fuel delivery.
Need to check fuel pressure. Sometimes the pumps will just die after sitting for a long period.
And just seeing if fuel squirts out of a line or a test port does not cut it. The system would need a certain amount of pressure to work.

Battery turns, but will not start.

are you getting fuel to the engine or can you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn on the key? if not you may have a fuel pump issue

I have a 2003 Hyundai Sonata that just dies when i'm driving

Not the battery. Once the car is started, a bad battery will not cause it to stop running all of a sudden.
For engine to run you need - compression, air, fuel, spark.
Might want to check out your ignition coil for an intermittent condition - try replacing it.
And if it does not turn over(crank) check the wiring going to the starter motor, solenoid, for good connectivity. And make sure that your fuel pump is always getting power and pumping.

Hyundai Sonata 2000 model 4 cylinder. while driving the stopped and wont start. changed timing belt, balancer, tensioner and timing sensor, coils, fuel pump, plus another sensor that fits near the coils....

Hi there. I can solve this dangerous problem you are having. You would loose acceleration at lights and intersections, the engine will shake and revs can go crazy. The issue is the MAF (mass air flow) sensor. It was recalled in 2001 as a safety problem as people died driving this model of sonata. If you connect your comp up to a diagnostic machine you will find its the MAF the problem is a problem that is hard to ctah on a diagnostic machine though as it comes and goes. You will need to replace the MAF ASAP as you can die from this fault and hyundai will not care due to the age of this car.
