I have a 2004 volvo s60, a few months ago I drove

I have a 2004 volvo s60, a few months ago I drove it to work with no problems then when I was leaving the car would turn over the lights work but wont crank. We tried jump starting it but still nothing. Battery tested to be fine so we had the car towed into a local repair shop they said it was the starter relay switch so we paid our 150. and thought everything would be fine....since then 3 more times the car will run fine then you go to drive it again and the same thing happens as it did again today and now its stuck at my job. Does anyone have a clue of where I would start to find the pprobelm? thanks so much in advance. Adam

Change battery cables.if your battery over 5 years over replace it.i had same problem with batteries after 5 years .i am looking at starter you replace starter relay . but the starter could have a open circuit.take it off have it tested at auto zone or advance auto. they wont charge you to test it.

It may be the immobilizer. Check the stop lights' fuse, often it is the same as for the immobilizer. It helped us on a Peugeot 406 with the same problem.

I'm bleeding the system after replacing the power steering pump, I already jacked the front end up and checked resivoir levels, and went end to end on the steering wheel, then lowered the car checked...

you are supposed to replace it with only Pentosin CHF-11 hydraulic fluid or something equivalent. And also maybe your used pump is bad, or you have air trapped. To bleed it turn lock to lock many times and hold it at lock for few seconds.Check this video out. Volvo S60 Power Steering Drain and Fill

Resetting computer on volvo s60 2002 after battery replacement

I had this problem on my 02 s60 after messing with the battery. The problem is that the computer is stupid and "forgets" how to manage the car if it completely loses power.

To retrain it you basically just drive the car. I've seen several sets of instructions but here's what works for me:

1. Start the car and let it idle until warmed up.
2. Using moderate throttle (don't floor it) get the car up to highway speeds.
3. Slow down to a complete stop.
4. Repeat 2-3 a few times if you're so inclined.
5. Done!

Skipping the highway part will work too, however, I've heard it can take much longer to retrain the computer (weeks to months depending on driving habits.)

Intermittent problem starting 2002 volvo s60.

the symtoms you describe sounds like a battery fault. but if you have had the battery properley tested and is good then you either have something discharging the battery intermittantly ie. trunk light staying on or a high resistance in the main battery leads or earth connections

2001 S60 Air blowing hot

There may be a problem with the AC compressor pressure cycling switch, it turns the AC compressor on and off as required to maintain proper pressure in the system, it is located in the low side line (large AC line) under the hood, it will have 2 or 3 wires going to it.
