Fuel gauge not working mercedes benz e420

the float in the tank has got stuck. open the cover and hit the top of the tank a few times see if it pops off. happens if you don't fill the tank up for a long time. if it dont go back you need to get into the tank to put it back. some times the wire for the tank sender get caught up on the float and make it not move any more.

I have 1999 0ldsmobile van and the gas gage is stuck at 1/4 tank , also the odometer and trip don't work

The odometer/trip display in this model is a LCD display and it is burned out, it is a common fault on all GM models in this model year range. The problem can be repaired but it requires the Instrument cluster be removed form the Van and be sent out to a GM approved repair center. These repair shops are on the Internet just google GM instrument cluster repair. The cost is about $160.00 US.
The gas gauge is a separate problem, it is caused by a defective gas level sending unit inside the gas tank. TO replace the level sensor for the gauge you must remove the gas tank from the van. To do this repair you need a good hydraulic floor jack, jack stands to support the car and a good set of common hand tools and a helper if you do the job on the ground. Use great caution when working on a gas tank as the risk if fire and explosion is quite high if proper care is not taken to a avoid creating sparks. Always dicinnect the battery negative cable before starting work on any part of the car. The parts cost for this is about $200 and 4-5 hours of hard labor.

Fuel gage not accurate

The only real cause of this is that the fuel level sending unit inside the gas tank is defective. I suggest your move the gas tank from the truck and replace it.

Fuel gage stuck on full

Either there is a short in the fuel sender wiring or the sender in the tank is bad.The actual gauge is rarely bad.Good luck.

Else
The float affixed to your fuel pump in your gas tank is stuck.

It tells the dash you ALWAYS have a full tank.
You have to drop the tank, PB Blast/WD40 the float, get it to drop down.
Finally
Your unit in the tank is bad. Pull it out and move it up and down while someone looks at the gauge. If doesn't work, buy a new one. They are not that expensive.

Gas gague not working in 93 gmc sierra

The fuel level gage sending unit is defective, very common problem. The sending unit comes with a new fuel pump and is referred to as a module, also make darn sure you replace the fuel pump connector at the fuel tank, solder and shrink tube the new connector on, DO NOT USE CRIMP CONNECTORS.

Gas gage stopped regestering below 1/2 full

mcdevito75 here, Hello john, the sending unit in the gas tank could be faulty of stuck, try leaning against one of the back fenders to move the body of the car from side to side to try to free up the sending unit. You may have to live with it unless yoyur local shop changes the sending unit in the gas tank.

If the starter doesn't turn over the battery is dead or you need to replace the starter.

The gas gage not working is caused by the fuel level sender located in the fuel tank this will also need to be replaced.

Gas gage

It could be the fuel level sending unit is stuck or going out. It's in the gas tank.
