I had to replace a 80 amp fuse. There may be more than one of these fuses, but in my case the power steering electrical assist quit working. Locate the fuse panel under the hood. My 80 amp fuse was between 2 bolts. One red wire from battery on one bolt,
the fuse between bolts. Remove the 2 nuts holding the fuse. Install the new fuse between the 2 bolts and replace nuts.
FYI - If you need to jump start this SUV some day, warn the person connecting the cables to NOT connect across these bolts.
It will of course blow this 80 amp fuse immediately.

SOURCE: where and how to change cabin filter chevy equinox

Hiya...the cabin air filter is located below the front passenger/windshield area.
It's only accessible by standing outside the Equinox with the hood open.
Here's how to do it...(before you pop open the hood)

1) Stand outside at the front-right door area.
2) Just below the front windshield area, pull up a few small black plastic clips that's on the black windshield wiper cowl area- a small flat screwdriver or a special clip-remover tool is handy.
3) Raise the hood up.
4) There may be a triangular-shaped hard foam sound damper at the left side nearby the hood hinge...pull it off if it allow you to work around it with ease.
5) Continue to find a few black plastic clips around the black windshield wiper cowl area.
6) Gently pull up the black windshield wiper cowl cover with care not to bend it too hard during removal.
7) You should see the cabin air filter inside that's held in place by a black rectangular box inside.
8) There's 2 black tabs that holds the cabin air filter in place.
9) Insert your finger or tool to pry the cabin air filter away from the tabs.
10) Remove old cabin air filter.

Remember to reinstall the clip parts back into place when you're finished.

needle nose plyers, or look for the little white fuse puller on the cover, or under the hood.

SOURCE: 2008 Equinox Horn Replacement

Hiya
There's 2 horns-one is a low-note pitch on the driver's side and a high-note pitch on the passenger's side.
Both are bolted vertically onto the 'front-under' frame below-behind the headlight area....located just above the steel front interior bumper frame area.
Unplug the black wire from the horn's plug socket.
While you shop for new horns at the store, use the original horn to determine the new horn's plug socket can fit the black wire plug that you took it off from the original horns.
Hope it helps.

2008 equinox can I replace the 80 amp mega fuse and use 100 amp instead or will I immediately fry a bunch of stuff

I wouldn't recommend replacing an 80-amp mega fuse with a 100-amp fuse in a 2008 Equinox. The mega fuse is designed to protect the electrical system from excessive current, and using a fuse with a higher amp rating could potentially cause damage to your vehicle's electrical system or even cause a fire.
It's important to use the correct fuse rating as specified by the manufacturer. Using a fuse with a higher amp rating than specified can result in the fuse not tripping and protecting the electrical system in the event of a short circuit or other electrical problem
tip

JUMP-STARTING CABLE CONNECTIONS

This video is on a 2008 Chevy Equinox SUV, but may be very similar to other Chevy vehicles. On many occasions, I have heard about a problem that can
be experienced while connecting jumper cables to jump-start a vehicle. If the
negative cable is connected to a bolt on the fuse panel near the positive bolt
that IS located on the fuse panel will cause the 80 amp fuse to blow. The neg
jumper cable should ONLY be attached to a good ground somewhere on the
chassis itself. Ref. to the video.

Chevy equinox 08 no power steering. Checked fuse. It's ok

Check fuse # 63 marked EPS, 80 amp.

If that fuse is good, then you likely fried the Steering Control Module

How to reset power steering on 2007 chevy equinox

My power steering system in Equinox 2007 just stopped to work without any reason. I tried to find solutions and found out that there was no dedicated fuse for it. Which means that it is under the computes's control. What should we do with any computer first if we have problems? That's correct - restart it! :-)
I disconnected the battery for 30 seconds and voila - no issue with power steering anymore. No expensive parts, no 80 amp fuse replacement, no service of any kind :-)
